Hi,

 

Does anyone know if they're any good?  I've read that their tips are harder, but I'm not sure how they are in a Rapidstrike.  I assume any Nerf knockoff dart would work on a StrongArm since it's not motorized, right?  

 

Or can someone please recommend a place to purchase cheap darts?

I reccomend either making stefans/slugs for springers ( if you modify your guns) or purchasing koosh gen 3 darts (for springers) from ebay. The ones on amazon i have seen may work, but not as well as koosh. For flywheels, i'd say koosh gen 3 also, for their cheap price and usability. If the rapidstrike is overhauled, stefans or slugs should work fairly well with an extended dart pusher. This all is if you just want cheap darts. Amazon ones should work, but you get what you pay for.

They're alright. The darts are much harder than standard Elite Darts, and hurt more. But on the plus side, they are more accurate than Elites and last longer, because the foam is also a bit harder. As for a Rapidstrike, they work; I just tested it. But, be careful when using these darts in springers, as they can damage your walls. So, to answer your question, yes, darts from Amazon do work in the Rapidstrike. The ones that I got are these:

Everyone says "Koosh" darts are the best knockoffs to use in flywheels like the rapidstrike. Available here or here. The tips are still pretty soft, so they shouldn't hurt as much as FVJs.

 

Yeah, pretty much anything should work okay in a strongarm.

With the exception of Kooshs and ACCurates, there appear to be two classes of these knockoff darts, one people are calling FVJs and another that I call Nerf "clones". The FVJ is a millimeter and a half longer, the walls of the tube are slightly thicker, the foam is considerably more dense, and the heads are solid and hard. The Nerf Clones on the other hand are nearly identical to genuine Nerf darts. The body is the same, the foam is similar, but the heads are either solid or made of a much harder plastic, so they're not soft and pliable like a genuine Nerf dart. The picture Fisher posted above is a perfect example.

I've never had any problems with the Nerf Clones. They perform almost exactly the same, maybe a little better IMHO, probably because the heads are a little heavier. Every once in a while I get one with too much glue in the head and it jams in my EXDAT, but for the most part they're perfectly fine.

The FVJs, which come in all sorts of colors including the traditional blue, are a mixed bag. My flywheel blasters don't like them. Maybe it's the length, and maybe it's the increased thickness, but they are very unpredictable, and tend to jam a lot. For springers and front loaders they seem to work great, and are definitely more accurate. And this business about being banned is ridiculous. I've been hit plenty of times with these, and there's no discernible difference.

The problem is, the pictures posted on Amazon don't always match the actual product. I've ordered hundreds of darts from Amazon and received a variety of different dart types. I guess if you really don't like them you could return them, but the price is so low I've just kept them and made a mental note of which darts work in different blasters.

I much prefer a softer tip since my kids will be shooting me so it looks like the winner (for my situation) is the "koosh" darts.
