Today I got to visit Hasbro's headquarters in Rhode Island, and see their facilities. Here are some photos and notes from my visit.
First off, a nerf logo made out of hundreds of megas, streamlines, and elite darts.

Lawbringer prototype and production models:
Some alternate hammershot designs prototyped in foam:
Some Zombiestrike Slingfire prototypes made from foam, a test run of a shell in primer gray, and the final product.
A prototype for the drum mag which uses teflon tape and hotglue with some clear plastic sheet and tubing. Would not look out of place in the homemades picture thread.
My favorite prototype. An early barrel break prototype, which looks unmistakeably like something you might see right here on the haven, right down to the re-purposed Maverick handle.
I've been up since 4:30 AM, so I'm going to crash, but here is the rest of my album if you would like to take a look. I'll be covering the other photos in more detail with descriptions over the next couple of days.

My child hood dream was to work with hasbro's R&D team designing nerf blasters. It's been exceptionally cool to see that as modders we really aren't too far off from where they start their designs too. They have more resources once they get to the production stages, but the early builds? It's poly carb, hot glue a 3d printer and what ever they've got laying around. I'll be geeking out over these pics for days.

These guys are mad, in the best way. Wish I could interact with them the way you've gotten to, thanks for sharing.

Holy smokes, was there a blaster that fires nerf circular saw blades in there? Or does it *just* use the blades for power? Some other nefarious purpose?

The sawblade is aesthetic, you can pull the secondary trigger to rev it. (Drac has footage of one of the nerf engineers using it.) The actual blaster is a pretty standard pullback pistol with a smart AR.
Anyway, I'm really excited for the splitstrike. I hope that the ammo switching mechanism is some degree of efficient, it'd be interesting to try to reverse engineer it onto something more powerful. (Maybe an airgun or something of that nature.)

A semi-auto airgun with a built-in grenade launcher that'll feed off of the same air tank? Hmm, I oughta look into that for down the line.

Yea I want it too!Am I the only one looking at the elite styled hammershot and wishing they would actually make it? It looks like the perfect cross between the hammershot and the sweet revenge.

Hell yeah, me too!
Unfortunately, we're probably not going to get it in 1337 blue. They might make a Modulus version with a faux silencer, though. That would be nice.
