So, I have a question about how I should go about painting me Stryfe.

I know which kind of paints I would like to use, with a White vinyl primer, followed by doing something like this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w66vVC6XcPQ

My question is, how should I go about this without messing up the battery compartment? Wouldn't water get inside of it, causing it to not work anymore? Theres also the two battery connection points on the internals of the Stryfe, and I know other people have done this, but how do I go about painting the inside of the Stryfe then?

Here's what I did for the outside.

• Pull all of the internals out.
• Desolder the leads that connect to the battery compartment.
• Put masking tape on the pieces that touch the positive battery terminals and around the springs that touch the negative battery terminals.

Overall better look, but, the main thing I was concerned about was water getting into the internals while I was dipping it in. (See video link.)

Of course, i'm not talking about painting the internals, just the inside of the Stryfe's shell.

1. DO NOT PAINT THE INSIDE. If you absolutely must use a light layer of black vinyl dye.
2. I've had bad results with any dye other than black, your proposed white vinyl dye 'basecoat' is laughable. If you need a white surface prime the blaster with black vinyl dye then use a dollar rattle can of white.
3. If all your internals are removed you'll be just fine dipping it in water, the water will have no effect on the terminal tabs left inside the blaster. Just make sure it's all dry before you solder.

I've done more Stryfe's than I can count, you'll be fine if you follow my above suggestions.

Thank you SO much for your help. Black dye will actually probably work better than white, now that I think about it. Also, those Stryfes are amazing, really liking that "Medic" one.
