The new Zombiestrike Longshot is beginning to hit shelves, and I'm curious as to what NH thinks about it. The Longshot is a much-beloved blaster, partly because of it's excellent internals - what changes have been made in this blaster? Is it basically just a re-skin of the 2006 Longshot, or have they re-worked it in any way?

While I sincerely hope that they have not changed the internals (just tweaking the at and the spring would be fine to because I don't care about that), I think that what nerf is going to do is replace the plunger tube. If they did that, it is just another reshelled retaliator and it takes away the best part of the longshot which was the large plunger tube.

Randomshadow09 uploaded his review of it yesterday. He said the shell and internals are virtually untouched. They removed the bipod and longshot logo, but other than that it's just a repaint.

Going off of what azrael said, rs09 also mentioned that they did remove the longshot logo, but left the original n-strike logo on the stock. The internals were untouched. He also said the scope is a lot more sturdier on the tac rail.

Does anyone know if the dart tooth has been modified for Elite darts? My HvZ Longshot has the OMW kit inside, and every so often the dart tooth (using the window style dart tooth, not the new elite friendly hinge tooths) will snag a dart and bend it back, causing a jam. Has the new tooth been swapped out for something more compatible with Elites?

Is the scope's "lens" still all uneven and blurry? I think it would look funny on a Demolisher.

I personally think that nerf just tweaked around with the receiver by adding a new dart tooth and giving us a weaker air restrictor in the piece that holds the dart (someone please tell me what that's called). Love the repaint, though.

The new Zombiestrike Longshot is beginning to hit shelves

My question is: where are these shelves that the Zombiestrike Longshot can be found?

All this speculation and discussion can be ended if this question is answered.

Targets, I know that. However, a lot of people are having to dig around in the store's stockrooms because the stores have been waiting to stock them. A couple people I have seen have had to go in with a DPCI code and walked out with longshots.

A member of the Facebook group Nerf Modders Welcome already has one. According to his photos, the internals are completely unchanged; the dart tooth hasn't even been changed to the Elite-friendly design.

My Target (Cincinnati) has them on shelves. No DCPI or backroom rummaging needed. I did not get to take a close look at them, however, and will not be able to get one anytime soon.

consensus seems to be a total rerelease of the longshot with a new paintjob and a few modifications to shoot elite darts

I think it has something to do with a common jamming problem when loading elites into the old longshots. the dart tooth has been modified. im not really interested in the blaster, so i havent been following the conversation.

i am van james huynh and i do have that longshot in possession right now, the spring seems somewhat a bit more powerful but mine looks like it was rushed as the spring placement of the locks were messy and did have a loop sitting with a ring outside, and it also was just filled with grease, it looked like someone just squeezed it in there but didn't lubricate the wheel axle, but the scope is relatively strong but my reticle seems to be inverted, may just be me. i would show you the scope on the demolisher but mine is currently not in my possession.

The only changes made to the internals are a slightly stronger spring and a copious amount of grease.

The dart door does not seem to be changed at all in spite of the elite dart jamming problems, and I'm almost convinced that the grease is the only reason my elite darts aren't jamming in it right now.

Personally, I wish they still gave us the front gun, if for no other reason than to use its shell to make more NERF-styled pulse rifles. The feel of my old LS with the underslung FG is awesome, even if the FG's internals are essentially worthless.

Regardless, I'd like to pick up a few.

The best part about that is you KNOW people still have front guns laying around. I think there are going to be a lot of under slung panther tanks and the like. I at least have plans to try and fit one in the scope.

Having tons of grease couldn't fix the dart tooth problem, I am unsure of what the original problem was but the dart peg is a lot shorter, and yes the spring is a bit stronger. The excess grease is a bit annoying and again makes it look like it was rushed to be made. I still feel they were really cheap with the remake as they didn't even change the accessory tooth, besides making the spring stronger. I'm very surprised the scope is sturdy as nerf has a bad track record with that. i wish they made more changes, ambidextrous magazine release or the new style magazine release, and instead of the bipod remains a shotgun grip, or an angled fore grip, or even a tac rail i don't like the feel of where the bipod used to be.

Saw one in target today. Didn't pick it up because I have two longshots and I don't like the repaint. It will take a while to grow on me. The base color is dark teal and the orange accents aren't anything near the orange tip.

I found them at my Target. I had to ask for them to get it from the back, they hadn't stocked it yet.

But I can't get more than one shot off before it doesn't fire - I suspect it's some sort of lemon, but needless to say, it's very disappointing. It jams nearly every dart straight out of the box.

Oh, and maybe it's just me, but I noticed that priming left handed is now possible. The priming handle no longer locks up when pulled from the side with the clip release.

I want to get one, but I don't know if the bolt on it is like the old one, or if it have only one handle and a cap to hold it on, refer to the little dude holding one on the zombie strike package to understand what I am talking about.
