*introduction*

So I went to target and they had loads of new nerf/buzzbee blasters... I was contemplating the sledgefire but the damn fucker is $30.00. Then I saw the Max 6, the new EXTREMEEEEE line from buzzbee. I thought it would have great potential.

This is kinda what it looks like, I already tried to do a pump replacement but here's the general gist of what it is



You can make it rearloading, it has enough space.

It's stupid simple to mod. Unscrew everything, and take the turret out.
The restrictor plates are glued on, so plop it in some boiling water and pop the caps off.


rebarrel with PETG.

DO NOT PLUG THE PUMP.
You will break the little plastic piece attaching the pump to the external part.

Anyways put back together and you're done.

Without the air-restricter plugged, how much of an improvement is this seemingly simple mod? Are we getting comparable ranges to the elite line? Better? From what I've searched it seems to be a fairly powerful air blaster.

The Air Max 6 and 10 (I'm working on a tank replacement for the 10 for shits and giggles) are both Elite in range in stock form, at least with their EXTREME darts. I haven't tried them with Nerf darts yet.

The air max gets elite ranges with stock darts, but is abyssmal when using elite darts. I just modified it to use slugs. Also, the tank just blew off. Buzz bee sucks with their quality control.

There's a little piece that connects the internal pump to the external slide. If you plug the pump, you run the risk of breaking the connecting piece and you will not be able to pump it externally.

If I understand correctly, he is talking about a piece that is part of the external slide that goes through a bit of the pump in order to pump it using the external slide. Think of it as the pin in a maverick that usually breaks if you do spring replacements. It is the same concept. The pressure would be greater, thus putting more stress on this cross piece of the slide, and will potentially break it off.

Now, for why I really wanted to post:

This "mod guide" is pretty terrible. I'm not trying to strike you down for posting it, but there is very little substance here. First off, I (and I know I can't be the only one) don't even know what this blaster looks like or how it functions. I shouldn't have to supplement your "guide" with a google search just to see what blaster we are even discussing. Add more information, and actually "guide" me through the process. I (and new people visiting the site) would really appreciate it.

Yeah, actually I'd like to know how much there is to modify the shell for rear loading.

I myself wouldn't mind seeing more of a walk through. It's half the fun of the site to see the creativity. It also be nice to hear ranges your getting, how accurate the blaster is now. More important if the rotation mech still works after rebarreling it. How long did you make the barrels? Could it rear load easily? Would that be more advanced? Things to think about because yea got people interested. I myself will probably pick one of these up.

It is possible to rear load the blaster. There isn't a problem with the rotation with a rebarrel, in my experience at least. I can't exactly check the ranges anymore because I plugged the pump and snapped it in half before I could get 6 shots off. It fired off fairly far, I'm guessing about 60 with slugs flat.

So I recently got 2 of these wonderful toys. Stock they are amazing. So I whent to re-barrel one... 11 inch PETG barrels without a way to make the seal better, will not fire. Furthermore the rotation mech. is not strong enough to handle the 11 inch barrels. Further mods will be done to make it work, more later.

Disregard the rotation mech, it is plenty strong, it just needs to be re-greased for it to function properly, however still having problems devising a seal for the turret.

I don't believe this is Necro posting, but if it is, I'm sorry. Anyways, I plugged the OPRV on mine and it's working just fine. I'm putting eight pumps into it every time I fire and there's no sign of breakage yet, and I would say I've fired it 50-60 times already.

Interesting. The valve on the pump, correct? I didn't inspect the blaster for a second one.

Yes, the I plugged the whole on the pump with hot glue.

It wasn't real PETG, it was the polyester tubing from McMaster.

It wasn't real PETG, it was the polyester tubing from McMaster.

Polyester barrels weight more than PETG, the weight of these barrels may tug your barrel assembly down, causing your blaster to seal poorly.

It can be. I'm currently sitting next to mine. I'm getting over the century mark with this blaster.

It doesn't really require a write up, it's super simple. Go right ahead and make one though, but I don't think it's worth your time. Here's a few notes for you, replace the pink vinyl tubing and reinforce the pump shaft; both of these failed on me. Also, this 'guide' has a terrible turret seal. I can't even imaging putting this blaster back together with that shitty of a seal. How I solved it, cut off the shaft of the black plate we boiled off and glue them back in place. Then cover them in silicone grease. It's not perfect, but it's loads better than leaving them off. I also added a second spring to the plate that connects the tank to the rear of the turret.

Like I said, I'm getting over 100ft with stock streamlines and 5 pumps.

Interesting, I'm personaly having issues with my seal but I did save those plates... I've tried an extra spring but I just didn't get what I was looking for... So I'm tryen a tank expansion as well... Currently just waiting for the thing to cure. The rotation mech is plenty strong and smooth... I'm running 11 inch barrels of McMaster tubing. It just needs to be re-greased.

I am amazed at performance, i had no idea this little tank could put out that much power.

It helps that i'm using stock elites, which have great aerodynamics and flight capabilities.

Where did you buy your AirMax10? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

With 5 pumps, too, though? I mean, maybe because it's higher pressure, because it's smaller...I mean, Supermaxxes hit 100' and they have a smaller tank than a Panther....:0 I dunno haha.

Kmart is the only place I believe that is currently selling the 10's.

The reason I'm doing a writeup is because new members will have no clue how to begin something like this.

Also, how long did if take to boil off the black plates? If left mine in boiling water for two minutes and they refuse to budge.
