Hey everybody this is my first modification write up. This is My Nerf Dart Tag Sharp Shot Modification Guide.

What you will need: A Dart Tag Sharp Shot, one 1/2 inch cpvc coupler, E-Tape or Teflon tape, a drill or a dremel and a phillips head screw driver.

Step 1 : Start off with a stock Sharp Shot

Step 2 : Remove all the screws, they are all phillip head screws.

Step 3 : After you remove all the screws remove the side plates and slide. P.S there is a hidden screw.

Here is a shot of the internals.

Step 4 : Remove these pieces. You will be modding these.

Step 5 : Drill or dremel out the air restrictor until it looks like this.

Step 6 : Put E-tape or Teflon tape under the O-ring and over the hole.

Step 7 : Put the 1/2 inch cpvc coupler on the end of the plunger rod like so. It fits on with just friction.

Step 8 : Drill or dremel out this until you can fit the 1/2 cpvc coupler in it snuggley.



Step 9 : Fit it together like so.

Step 10 : Put the internals back together and put two nickles behind the spring.

Step 11 : Put the gun back together.
Ranges I am getting are 45 - 55 + feet with 1.5 inch single bb dome darts.

Oh I use 2 pieces of 5 inch cpvc over under speed loader

Anyway, nicely done. Very clean. I like to see that there are still people modding the new guns.

I have to ask though, why didn't you put the coupler closer to the plunger tube?

Those pegs on the side of the plunger rod fit into the shell to hold it in so it won't move around so cutting those off and putting the coupler down deeper seems to me like it wouldn't make the gun shoot any better.

Since air is compressible, the less "dead space" or un-used space the better. When The plunger is released, the air in the barrel/plunger tube is compressed behind the dart until the pressure is enough to overcome the static friction holding said dart. When you have a large amount of dead space, the air ends up compressing instead of firing the dart with as much force.

Very quality first write-up. I like to see all the new guys making nice write-ups. On another note, you could fill the deadspace in with a stock dart foam part, and then put a straw in the foam. Other than that, great job.

You could reduce dead space by chopping off the pegs, moving the coupler down and replacing the pegs with a long screw that fits the spots that the original pegs were in. While your at it you could do an internal extension spring power stock like in this.

Solid First write up, I love how simple and clean this is, but am I the only one who feels 45-55 feet out of a 5 inch barrel with a reverse plunger tube, large dead space, and stock spring? Seems a bit off to me, but regardless of actual ranges, I like the mod as a good place for beginners.
