So, I have a question about lubricant: What lubricant should I use. I recently bought lubricant, but I am not sure if it is good for seals and rubber in general. I've only seen one person use this lubricant and I am not sure if this is good lubricant. This is the lubricant that I use:
Posted Image

Front:
Super Lube
Synthetic Grease
With Syncolon(PTFE)
Multi-purpose lubricant

Back:
Highly lubricious, clear and non-toxic
Excellent dielectric, impervious to salt water
USDA authorized, rated H-I (or H-1, I can't really tell)
Temp ranger -45 F to +450 F

Have you ever used this lubricant? Is it good for rubber? If you need any more detail, please feel free to ask. Thank you.

That stuff's amazing, it's silicone with microscopic particles of PTFE (Teflon). Been trying to find it around here, Lowes doesn't carry it.

Oh, great. I found it at Harbor Freight for 5 bucks. It is in a HUMONGOUS tube; it's about 6 inches tall and about 1 and 3/4 inches wide. One more question: Does it work with plastics and making trigger pulls smoother and that kind of stuff?

I don't see why it wouldn't be. However, it does seem like it'd make the inside of your gun messier than it should be. But even still, it should work just fine for all of your needs you described.

I've never used that stuff, but I have used Vaseline on the inside of one of my Ls's once, and it made it so much smoother.

Vaseline will degrade rubber and plastic over time.

Mully, open up all of your guns and thoroughly clean the plunger tubes of the vaseline. Then either buy or order some silicone grease and replace it. You can order it from lowes.com if you cant find it in stores. I did the same thing originally and I suggest you replace it so it doesn't corrode your o-ring.

Thanks for the replies guys. Admins/mods can close this thread, I have my answers. Also, Mully, wash out everything that you applied Vaseline to. Then wipe it with silicone grease or the lubricant that I bought. You can find it at Harbor Freight for $5. It should last me quite a while.

Been using this stuff for years, it's fantastic. I got mine at Miller Industrial (Similar to, but not an ACE). I've used it on plungers, triggers, even a sticky door hinge.
