Look at these words below which is published in the article:

What ? Brass tubing or PVC ? No way, man ! ( As far as I know about darts, that is)

Mix and Match
Neon-green-and-orange weaponry just doesn’t look dangerous. If you cobble together pieces of a Longstrike CS-6, a Raider CS-35, and a Recon CS-6, then repaint this agglomeration, you’ll have a reasonable facsimile of an AK-47 assault rifle with a banana clip.

Are you sure that is even possible ?

No offense to all, I personally say that is so way off and misleading.

Serious edit: It's weird that he would get such specific information right, like Stefan Mohr's name and fact that people (used) to use Crayola barrels, but say strange things about brass tubing. I know some tacti-cool wannabes like to paint their blasters black, but does anyone really use brass or pvc in their darts?

That's a very common observation to make when one is immersed in a subject and reads an article written by a journalist with only recent familiarity with the subject. Even if the journalist is diligent about doing his research, he will lack the depths of knowledge that an enthusiast has built up over the years. Example: the mention of crayola barrels, a laughably obsolete modding method by community standards (but a very nice visual for the article).

It's not a bad article, honestly. It seems more aimed towards college students and office nerf, and at least it manages to not belittle the hobby.

That's honestly what a well-written article typically is. I assume that it's noticable in this article because we have much more knowledge on the subject and can notice the things that are incorrect.

If someone wants to make their darts hurt people, I guess he would use PVC or brass.
