Alright, normally I wouldn't post a stupid question thread like this, because I'm sure after tinkering around with this for a couple more weeks I would find the answer myself, but I'm going to a war tomorrow and need some help with this.
So, I got a Quadshot last week at TRU, and soon stuck a clip on there because I didn't want to deal with the annoying task of getting a good plunger-turret seal. What I've done to the gun is add a longshot spring to the stock one, lube the plunger head a bit for a slightly better seal, and stick a Sch.40 1/2" PVC coupler on there for my clip. I've also done Badwrench's torsion spring reorientation for reinforcement, and dremel out the stopper on the back of the plunger rod. The clip holds four 2" stefans out of the Lowe's brand foam; It's thin foam compared to some, so it can slide into CPVC without twisting, and has a tight, but not too tight fit. My barrel is very lightly flared out to prevent misfires, and is 6" long.
The problem I'm having is that no matter what I've tried thus far, I can't get a consistent clip off. I've searched for the last day or two trying to find some answers, and I have--- somewhat. This is the best answer that I've found so far. Nerfer34 has some troubleshooting down at the bottom as well, which I followed, but no luck.
What happens is about 80 or 90% of the time, the first shot of the four is just fine; I'm getting around 75 to 80 feet, just what I hoped for, and it's pretty accurate. But what it's done today is I then fire the second dart, and it fires the rest of the entire clip about 40 feet. I honestly have no idea what's going on at this point; I've tried using 17/32" Brass as my barrel because my darts are tighter in that than CPVC, but it still shotgun loads--- except about 25 feet less range. I've tried a different piece of CPVC, thinking that maybe that one was just 2 or 3 hundredths of an inch wider, but no cigar.

It's just CPVC sanded a little bit and hammered into Sch. 40 PVC.

Since you've abandoned the turret (the seal isn't too difficult on the Lanard Shot Gun) and have a coupler on it, I would just go for an RSCB instead. They are generally less finicky than inline clips in terms of shooting multiple shots.

However, one thing you should improve/fix is the transition from PVC to CPVC, hammering a piece in will warp the PVC a little bit, as well as mess with your CPVC, changing that could just help your problem. You could drill out an inch or two of PVC with a 5/8" drill bit, then the CPVC will fit in easier, or just use a coupler and place the CPVC into a smaller walled 1/2" PVC, wrapping it with electrical tape to make it snug.

Your problem is that the CPVC isn't funneled out enough. I always funnel out the barrel completely, until the edges are actually fairly sharp. Always works for me. And don't forget to point your gun down and shake!

This is what I use for funneling:

I just close them, and twist the tip into the barrel. The edges are sharp enough to shave plastic. If yours aren't, just sharpen them with your dremel.

PS: You're the guy who at one of the XRoads wars was using a singled 3k, right?

Why would that hurt my performance? I would think that warping the CPVC just slightly after hammering it in would make it a bit tighter, discouraging shot gun loading. I didn't go with the RSCB just because I wasn't sure if the Quadshot had the air output to use one effectively. I'll whip one up right quick and report back.
Edit* Yeah, I was that guy. lolsingled3k. I had funneled my barrel out with my cone dremel bit the other day, but I'll do it with the other barrel and see if I get a change in performance.

If you have a tight enough dart fit, you won't have problems with shot gun loading. I know yours is pretty loose as you said, so if shotgunning poses an issue after you completely funnel the front of the CPVC, then the only thing I would suggest is a tighter barrel material.

You really don't have to worry about shotgunning inline clips on springers for the most part, as they release air pretty slow.

Yeah, I've put an in-line clip on a Pistol Splat a while ago, with the exact same setup, and it worked just fine. I guess the quadshot just has a huge air output for a springer.
I tested the Inline clip on it with a different method; I used the normal Sch. 40 as the clip, but I put another coupler at the front of that, with half of a CPVC coupler inside of that, and it was still shotgunning with a tight barrel fit. I did try a quick 'n dirty RSCB, and I was hitting near the same ranges, which actually really surprised me.
I guess you could say my problem is solved, so thanks for the advice guys; Tantum, hopefully I'll see you at the next war, since you said you could'nt make this one.
