This is my brothers modification, sorry to confuse you guys. So its my brother's modification, my profile. I did help a little but I only threw around some ideas. And don't worry I'll get some ideas!

Okay, first things first, if I'm doing this wrong (posting a "new topic") then 1: Please don't kill me. 2: Tell me how to post a modification and 3: Don't kill me I'm brand new to NerfHaven.

Okay, I'm aware that someone has done this to a Firefly but never to a Maverick? Correct me if I'm wrong please.
But for now it can't shoot.....I would like you guys to throw around ideas please. Okay, here it is Again if I'm doing this wrong don't kill me, please.

So the problem is that there is space between the barrel (chain) and blaster, I just can't see it. Oh and I did add a spring to the metal rood:

And here is a picture of the space. Not very much is there?

Then I thought it had to do with the weight, it didn't

But the thing is, is that even when I take out the turret and just put the chain up to the blaster, with out the turret, it shoots! Here, like this:
Posted Image

Well that's all I have for now. I might put more pictures in but for now, here it is!

(And if you can't see the pictures then you have to copy and paste it to a tab, sorry for the inconveniences but I can't figure the picture set-up yet. And if you still can't see it then tell me!)

Pictures on the way!

This is pretty cool, I've thought of doing this but with a LS. And welcome to the haven, and may the admins hopefully not kill you, unless you prove to be a git.

What is the problem? If you specify what is wrong with it someone might be able to help. By the way very creative and neat mod. Keep it up

I like the idea a lot, what exactly did you use for the white bit in the middle? (Unless I am missing something here)
Also, try and post pictures in the post, makes for less back n' forth work for us lazy asses. :P

Well the white part in the middle is something that my brother made in his collages' 3-D printer for this modification. (It was his idea but I helped)

I'm a little surprised at how much I like this idea. :P You should definitely add some pictures, and maybe think about a plunger replacement.

One problem, I have no idea how to put up pictures!!!

And maybe I might have to do a plunger replacement, that would be smart.

To post pics, you first need to upload them to an image hosting site such as imageshack or photobucket. If you're looking to replace the plunger, I would forget the reverse plunger design, and do something more like the nitemav.

If you can get this to work that would be awesome.

Good idea!
At first I though you took the vulcan rotation/belt movement thing and put it into the rotation for the maverick.
It is really cool how you used a 3d printer to make that part.

From what I got from your original post, the gun doesn't shoot normally when you cycle the chain through it like in "combat", but it does when you hold it up to the air output? Sounds like a simple problem with your seal, it's easily, but tediously fixable.
Basically what you need to do is adjust where the uh... cogs if you will (the two parts along the rod that hold the vulcan chain in place when cycling it through) are, making it so they are flush and close to the end of the plunger that sticks out of the gun, but not so close that it causes too much friction for the rotation mechanism to operate. You could use some rubber washers to increase teh seal, or what I like to use, some foam off of a Big Bad Bow arrow. It can be pushed in a little bit as to not create so much friction, and it's a good base diameter to start out with.
So yeah, props for the mod, it's very creative, and looks like it'd be a blast to play with. Do the chains fall out if you're like, running? Another thing you may want to do to the chain itself is add a barrel so you can get better ranges, since it looks like there's maybe 1/4 to 1/2 and inch of space between the edge of the shell and where the chain rests.
Oh, and you can let your guard down, it's alright. The moderators won't eat you. All you have to do is use common sense when posting (as in don't post things that you think will starts arguments / get you flamed for), use proper grammar, and have fun.

You should make it into a NiteMav, or use my 4B/BBBB intergrated Mav that I am STILL working on...

Ya that what I was thinking of doing. I can't work on it because remember it's my brother modification and he got angry because people were thinking it was my modification. (not angry at you guys! I didn't make it clear!) So I'm now basically just telling him all the things he should do, but its hard for him because of school, and a job.

Hope he can make it work
