Roughly half of the 15 or so scheduled attendees dropped out after contracting the flu the day before and the day of the event, so it was our smallest war yet. It was still fun for those who attended. Due to the small turnout, we played a version of Steal the Bacon, perfect for 2 small teams. I set a dart tag flag on a 5 min. timer in the center of the hallway. Take 3 hits, and you must return to your end of the hall and count to 20 before returning. After the timer goes off, it's 1 hit total elimination. First team to get the flag to their side of the hall after the timer goes off wins. Basically, it was a 5 min standoff for strategic position, then a mad-dash shootout for victory. You had to time your attacks so that your team would be in when the clock hit 0. After a few rounds, everyone wisened up. If you just ran for the bacon, odds are you'd be taken out, handing victory to the other team. When the timer went off, we ended up having some intense standoffs. We played a few rounds with sidearms only and melee only as well. It wasn't what I planned, but it was a lot of fun.
2 weeks from now, we should see a full-size war. Next war is also when I plan to shoot the promo video, so you'll certainly hear more exciting news then.
