I scheduled a game of Team Fortress 2 for this weekend in the group. You can join whatever server we're on from the Friends window or the Group page itself. Dibs on Medic (most because I have a bitchin' Medic hat).

Totally up for a game of TF2. I've got dibs on....well whatever people haven't dibbed yet. I'm a pretty solid in all classes, I suppose.

If you guys are going to be on for a few hours I'll try and join in late. There's a midnight showing of Evil Dead here and I'll most likely be at that when you start.

Where is "here"?

It's at the Uptown Theatre, in Uptown!

Have you ever run a medic/medic combo?

One medic heals, the other uses the ubersaw.
Healing medic pops uber, ubersaw medic gets full charge by sawing/killing people on the control point.
Then you switch positions, the now full uber medic heals the other medic and you do the same.

I've run it before and it's really funny when it goes down.

(By the way, my tag on steam is "Gunslingin' Gandi" and my username is what I listed earlier in the thread.)

Seen it done, not eager to try it. Though I did craft an uber-saw because I'm cool. I'm more of a battle medic anyways

Holy shit man, 40 hours on torchlight! I can see why though, it's a sick game. I had about 12 hours racked up of offline time because I didn't have internet in my room, then I had to format my drive and forgot to backup all my games saved files. This was all before the cloud network :/

Couple of questions for you guys
Anyone going to PAX East, or the Penny Arcade Expo being held in Boston? I preordered tickets in November, look's awesome.
Also, should we start a vent server?

Oh yah, and this is my setup.
The monitors look overkill, but I have one for my Ubuntu computer I got from someone who thought their computer was broken, and my other ones are my mains.

Thats my case, but with green lights and all black. Plus, that big intake in the front has a green LED fan because I wanted more lights.
Are you encountering any space issues with the case? I had to put my HDD into the bottom slot to get my oversized GPU to fit.

That looks like it could be alot of fun. I saw an Escapist video preview for it. Looks sweet.

By the way, can anyone recommend a really solid PC RPG? I played some more Torchlight yesterday, but I am looking for something a little different. And no, Grind isn't a bad thing.

Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games, Mass Effect is really good, KOTOR is amazing, all I can think of right now.

And yah, My HDD is currently where my FDD would be, it was in the way of my video card

Ok, glad I wasn't the only one that had that problem. Its a good case if you don't plan to move it. It is REALLY heavy though. I was taking it to a class because I wanted to game instead of do IT things, and it was heavy.

I was actually really disappointed, you would think it would be roomier for a gaming rig.

CSS weekend game update:

We will be playing on a standard server unless someone has a dedicated server that we could use.

Damn it Foamfoot. Why is it that you kill every good topic with a retarded response a few days late.

I was actually really disappointed, you would think it would be roomier for a gaming rig.

It probably was for last gen. If you were running a smaller power supply, and 2 smaller (performance and physical space) cards, then it probably was spacious, but thats the thing with all these new cards. Yeah, the crank performance up to 11, but they take up so much space. I do want to know though how much space I could save by removing the giant metal case for my GPU. Not only that, but Im pretty sure its acting as a hot box unless I have the fan on full.

Anyone wanna TF2-pub later? I'm thinking 10:00 PM Central time. Enough interest, we could join a pub server

Flash games?

Mice are cheap, and you don't "take up memory" for games. You put them on your hard drive. Torchlight however, is a great indie game like Diablo, that doesn't take a great PC to run, is only like 1 gb installed, and doesn't really requir a mouse (Unless you plan to play for more than 20 minutes.) Seriously, just buy a cheap USB mouse. Your fingers will thank you.

Seconded for Torchlight. It's a great game and its nice to see that the people at Runic aren't trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to dungeon crawlers.

We have a CS:S event as well as a TF2 event scheduled for today in the Steam group, so I hope to see some of you all on there.

I might try and get the dedicated back up for TF2. Good luck with counterstrike, I may or may not be around.

I missed the TF2 event because I'm an asshole and I overslept, so sorry about that. I'll try my best to make it to CS:S tonight but I won't say I'm a definite.

Nice to see that this has grown. Does anyone know what server we'll be playing at for CS:S?

We're not discouraging people from joining a Nerf forum, we're discouraging them from joining this forum. It's an important distinction because, frankly, we don't give a shit. The Haven was created to escape the idiotic masses, now they're all here. -cxwq
