**These photos are all backwards because I'm using my Macbook's internal camera, and didn't figure out how to automatically flip new photos until after I was finished, and am too lazy to re-take them all**
The "Super Air Blaster" appears to be, for all intents and purposes, a Big Blast. Internally, the trigger mechanism is slightly different, and the air tank appears to be somewhat smaller.
I'm hoping that this hinged-trigger-pushing-a-button-system will prove more durable than the Big Blast's trigger, as less force will be placed on the trigger itself.
This modification is very basic. Here are all of the tools that you will need:
(I lied, you will also need a pipe cutter to make a tiny piece of cpvc later)
Step 1: Cut off the stock barrel.
Step 2: Assemble yourself a cpvc coupler with a tiny 1/2" cpvc stub sticking out the end of it.
Step 3: Use your Super Glue to attach the stub end of the coupler to the place where the stock barrel used to be. After removing the stock barrel, I noticed that cpvc would fit perfectly inside the circle where the barrel used to reside, allowing you to glue not only to the base of the cpvc, but also to the sides, hopefully making it less likely that you'll knock the barrel off while you're running around like an idiot and have to redo everything. I also added some hot glue around the base of the coupler to further hold things together and hopefully make everything airtight.
Step 4: Reassemble the blaster
You're finished! You can minimize the body in the same way that you would minimize a 4B, but I'm personally not going to, as I plan on using an inline clip like this:
This is two pieces of petg from McMaster-Carr, with a stub of 1/2" cpvc in the base acting as a dart stop, and so that I can insert it into a cpvc coupler. As a note about this inline clip. The specific dimensions (length) of this clip might be too small to be used reliably. I have smaller ones I've been messing around with on my pistols, but this particular one was too small to be used on my +Bow. It just fired multiple darts because of the force of that big spring. If this blaster really is as powerful as a 4b, then this inline clip might prove too small, and I'll need to put together something larger.
As a note, I did NOT plug the pump, as I expect this thing to have close to the power of a 4B.
RANGES:
Finally got same range testing in, but I couldn't find my long measuring tape.
I fired this, singled with 10" of CPVC alongside my +bow, with an RSCB clip. The singled Air Blaster outshot the +bow by around 10 feet, but I don't typically get astronomical ranges from my +bow. I used Slug darts for this comparison, so take this information for whatever you really think it means. It's definitely primary worthy in my eyes, but if you're expecting over 100 feet, you'll probably be disappointed.
Overall, this thing feels a lot more durable than a Big Blast. The shell feels like much higher quality plastic, and I don't anticipate there being any problems with the trigger breaking, as there should be much less stress focused on the trigger as it is simply turning on a hinge to press a button, rather than pulling against the pressure in the tank.
*Thoughts from a few days later: I still like this blaster, but The handle and trigger are a bit awkward. They feel a bit small while you're pumping the blaster, and the angle of the grip could be better. Also, I don't think that these things are really going to hold up well to prolonged use, as the valves in my second one sound a bit funny now.
