I'm pretty sure you could take the gun apart. Take the shell with the sticker on it. Soak it in water, and peel
the sticker off.

Thanks for the suggestion Moonlight, but I can certainly vouch that in my experience this is not a good idea. This type of sticker (which are the same as the ones on the E-a-B ) are very much like paper. They may have had a coating at some point, but it's most likely long gone if there ever was. On the E-a-B, all the water was able to do (even when just simply trying to scrub them off after they were ruined) was to soften the paper itself.

I think our best hope would be some way to loosen the glue's hold, but I havent the foggiest on a good way to do this.

Sorry for the bad advice :D

I've had no past experience with the secret strike 1 at all.

I do know that method works with other stickers though so...

Think absolutely nothing of it, the only way one would know is if they have experience with these ancient (relative to the world of toys, of course) relics, and even then the stickers need to be intact after those eons have passed.

Now to make myself slightly useful:

The only way to get an old sticker off cleanly is to fossilize the glue holding it on, then pop it off, from my experience with paper stickers. I don't know how this happens, but more than one of my guns has had to have their stickers glued back on because the sticker dried out.

My suggestions:
Hair dryer: This warms up glue and loosens it's grip, you might be able to peel it off slowly after applying some heat for a few seconds. If the glue is already fossilized, the sticker might pop off with some pulling, and you won't even have to peel it off.

Freezer: It works for hot glue, so it might work for this.... Can't do any harm (I think...)

That's about all I can think of, I'm sure there's more if you search for the right words on Google.

Does anybody have any ideas for preserving stickers?

I have a beautiful Secret Shot 1 with near pristine stickers on it, and want them to last. Seeing as this Blaster is 15 years old I'm pretty sure they won't hold up to much abuse.

I think that some clear coat enamel would preserve those stickers pretty well, Testors brand is what I would use (just make sure to use the stuff in a jar, not the spray stuff).

Hmm, I might need to look into that, but I am afraid of putting liquids on these stickers. Are you sure spray would be worse? And pardon the ignorance, but is Testor a brand itself, or a person?

I touched up a crossbow sticker scan. Got rid of a lot of lint and hair and whatever else imperfections. It's not perfect, but it's close

Oops, I thought that said "soak it in water, and pee!"

Anyhoo... I love that crossbow sticker. If I ever buy/make a plus bow, I'm putting that on it.

And Testor is a brand. A very good brand, screw warhammer, use Testor!
