If any one has a link to it then that would be soooo great.

if any one has a longshot catch that would be even better.

If anyone has a catch loose, take a scan of it or photocopy if possible. It's easier to duplicate the dimensions from something with accurate scale.

Think:

If you're too lazy to make an account on a website, how can you expect us to pull apart our longshots, precisely measure the catch mech, and then scribe that information so you can maybe fabricate your own?

And secondly, how the hell do you lose your catch plate? That's just plain stupid.

It isn't "just plain stupid", it is called having a large amount of guns, multiple projects being worked upon at once, and sleepiness from said things. Amd having a completely taken apart LS at your disposal.

EDIT: LONG WIDTH: 1 3/16 inches.
HEIGHT (with part trigger pushes on): 2 inches
height of trigger part: 1/2 inch
little prongs on top: Diameter: 1/8 inch: hieght of prongs: 3/16 inches
width from trigger part to side: 7/16 inch
thickness: 5/32 inch
LENGTH OF ACTUAL CATCH PART: 13/16 inch: circumference of half circle: 1.1775 inches
little rectangle OUTSIDE:height:1/16: width: 1/16: length: 3/16

I KNOW there are people out there with spare longshot bits, ice being one of them. I also agree with BustaNinja, I recognize that question.

in my question i asked if any one had a "spare longshot catch" not one inside their gun. also i posted if some one had a spare longshot catch on the trades thread and no one sold it to me. that might be why you recognise that question.

I hate the longshot and don't own one anymore. Even if I did I wouldn't spend the time needed to take one apart, measure one piece, then put it back together.

Either try to buy the part you need in the Trading section, go buy another one, or better still ditch the longshot because it sucks.

I offered to sell you a Longshot catch for a cheap price but you have not responded for a few days.

What's with all the LS hating? Mine gets 80 to 90 feet, which is only a tad less then my SM1.5K. It's brass'd so it still uses the clip, and is heavily reinforced, so its not going to break. So I ask again, why does everyone hate longshots if they can get those ranges and have a high ROF?

They're not very accurate, don't shoot as far as a BBB with any consistency, not easy to reload quickly, mechanically complex (therefore not easy to fix at a war should something break during a round), not easy to modify, are bulky/awkward, and the breech has a tendency to mangle darts at the worst possible time.

I could go on, but those are the basics. In Nerf, often times less is more. A high ROF means nothing if you can't hit anything or are left vulnerable for a long period of time after the burst because you need to reload.

so its not going to break

I don't believe you. If you ran into a tree/post/wall while holding it I'm fairly sure it wouldn't survive and wouldn't be easily fixable. I've done that to several guns, most of which were simple enough mechanically that they were fixed either on-the-spot or later when I had access to the tools I needed.

Longshots are just ok. They're nothing spectacular and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who is looking to attend a war.

1. I agree

2. Stupid. slapping in a new mag takes about as much time as many other viable ways to reload a nerf gun. Furthermore, well modified longshots (singled or otherwise) can prove to be very accurate and powerful.

3. Even more stupid. I can't believe that you of all people would provide the hypothetical situation of "running into a tree" as a reason not to use a longshot. By this logic, FA24's coveted Doomsayer would be a TERRIBLE choice for a war because of the 12 petg barrels but we all know that to be the exact opposite.

On Topic: Next time, keep your important bits organized and safe. Use and label any old container that you see fit to hold all your screws, springs, catch plates, triggers, etc.

Don't keep your screws in the other half of the shell.

Don't leave things laying about on your work space unless you KNOW you will be finishing/assembling soon.

Label things: use little bits of paper and tape, or even post-its so you don't forget what is what.

Take pictures: Snap a photo of complicated internals.

Really now? We'll see about that this summer on July 21. However, you do know a lot about nerf guns, so I'm going to bring some strong back ups. I'm not really worrying about anything you said except for the breaking thing, except I already knew that. Its honestly not that hard to no be overly rough with your guns. I've warred many times with my 2K and SM1.5K, both of which have long PETG barrels. I have yet to dent the PETG.

I attended my first NIC hosted war with a longshot that had an arrow launching single titan. It worked pretty well, and as a rushing gun, it was awesome. I also had said longshot break at another war. The plunger head broke and I had no intention of fixing it. I was already getting use to a different play style.

Honestly, depending on how you Nerf, expect something to go wrong with your main primary. Just fix it, make it better, and leave it at that. There is no holy grail of Nerf that will never need maintenance or some TLC now and again, so just give your blasters love.

And the point about the breech shredding darts? I've never had it happen. Broke a mag, but never shredded darts.
