Hey guys this is my first write up and this is for people who dont have cpvc or petg on them or is just plain cheap like me. So the things you need are

1 Piece of paper
Scissors
Tape (gafting tape recommended)

1. Alright so first cut 2 pieces of paper any length you want like so
Posted Image
2. Roll it up to the size of your barrel of choice like so and then tape the paper so it stays together and make sure to make the inside of the paper to be as hollow as possible.
Posted Image
3.Repeat steps 1 & 2 and then tape them together and there you go a paper speedloader.

Let's see what happens when you drop it. Paper isn't a good barrel material.

What is with all the paper recently? Paper Barrels, paper speedloaders...

I mean, it costs what, 3 bucks for a 3 foot length of CPVC? Which allows you to have barrels for pretty much any gun you can slap a 29 cent coupler on.

Wow your CPVC is expensive...for 3 bucks I can get a 10 foot length of CPVC...

Anyways, paper isn't a good barrel material because it can rip, you can't holister it, if you drop your gun with the barrel on, you'd need another barrel...Oh well, whatever floats your boat...

I like it! It's creative. But like every one behind me it can break easily. Still a cheap replacement

I like it a lot. I might try it soon.

A lot of people, like me, don't have easy access to CPVC or PVC or Brass or PETG. I realllllly don't know how to phrase it to my parents. I'm only 13. What do I go say to them? "Hey Mom! Can we go to Lowes? I need some CPVC pipe!" She'd be like. O.o.... Same with my dad. And ordering it offline is really not an option, as she has a hard enough time trusting Amazon or eBay (actually, she doesn't at all trust eBay; just Amazon. And she's even still a little 'if-ey' about that even..) let alone a seller like OMC.

Thats why your seeing more mods using stuff like Crayolas, Sharpies, paper, RoseArts, etc. I made a Recon mod with a glue stick :P

If anyone has a clue how I could ask them to go buy some materials, drop me a PM or post. It'd actually help alot.

Back to topic again, as I said at the above, it's cool. I've been trying to improvise one with a bunch of materials, but this looks to be a winner.

Ok, what situation are you in with your parents? I go to a hardware store every weekend after i golf, and i am your age.
Man this was out of place with my new thread.... (don't sig that, read mine)

Then again, I am a more technological person. I made a lemon battery by accident when I was five. Oh well, just try and say something in the direction of

Hey Mom, can we go and get some Caulk Saver (FBR) and CPVC from Lowes today? I just got this really cool Nerf gun! (Explain NERFing here)

Anyways, on topic, a somewhat creative but not exactly original idea.

I don't get why people are afraid to ask their parents about going to a hardware store...It's not like it's going to kill you. Like RV said, you should put it something like that; and if she still is relentless on letting you go, well you're outta luck bud.

On topic: This is a fairly cheap mod, but I warn you. Paper is not a barrel material, and never will we. I advise you not to over use and depend on it too much.....It may fail on you some time

hmm... these might be useful if you wrap them in electrical tape or duct tape and you have like 50 of them loaded and strapped to your belt. Oh, my the possibilities... :P

About parents... I lust walked up and asked "hey, can we go to Breids (ace hardware) and get some schedule 12 half-inch cpvc about 3 inches long for my new Nerf Nitefinder?" and she's like: "Sure, how about at 2:00?" (Not kidding). But seriously, what's the worst thing that could happen? I just say give it a shot, or are you THAT self-conscience? :D

How are these speedloaders?

They don't have the structural integrity to act as a barrel replacement (i.e. they would crush if you tried to put them into any air-tight coupler setup) and they wouldn't do anything if you slid them over an existing barrel.

Will someone please enlighten me as to how you actually use these?

Ha, it's $1.69 for a 15' section for me!

Paper has been done before. A lot. It didn't need a write up.

But good try anyway! :P

For those of you who are saying paper doesn't last, I'll have you all know I've had an AT2K that I tested with paper barrels but was too lazy to replace them. It still hits 100ft ranges and I did the mod in 2004.

tell your folks you want to pursue a career in mechanical engineering and intelligently modifying nerf guns is a natural progression for someone at your age to naturally meet their goals.

ARGH, I'm the Ghost of the Pirate of past Code of Conduct Violations.

You should read this. Apply it or you will see me again... as a witchalok.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, speed loaders are things that load your barrel faster. What you seem to have made is a flip breech. Basically a coupler with 2 barrels together as shown.

It looks like you are using the paper as a barrel so that is a flip breech.

If you are using the paper to load the gun in a fast(er) manner, that is a speed loader.

Well everybody, listen to this. A couple months back I saw a similar thread to this, someone put paper on an At2k or something, not positive. What I did, was instead of using paper, I used posterboard. Then I simply wrapped E-tape around the front, the middle, and the back of the barrel. Last I nested it into some 1/2inch PVC. I still have the barrel, works great on my LBB, fits CDTD's perfectly.

The chances of one person taking a bomb on a plane are one in a million. The chances of two people taking a bomb on a plane are one in a trillion. So if you're scared of a terrorist attack, bring a bomb on a plane.

Ok guys, I have made a topic about Nerf modding and parents. http://nerfhaven.com...showtopic=15111

I'd just stop talking about how far everyone lives away from a hardware store, and get back onto the subject of these :P

On this topic, I actually went and made one, and it works decently. The paper is a bit porous, so I lost a bit of range, but not enough to make me stop using them :( Thanks!
