I've got a question and I'd like to know the anwser. Would it be possible to put to longshots on their sides, minimize them as much as possible, create one trigger for both of them, and basically make a double barrelled shotgun better than the ds?

I will once I get 2 more longshots. Probably the hardest modification I will have done to date.

I've actually had this idea. I was planning on trying it but I never got around to getting any more Longshots. I would be very interested in seeing this happen.

Or, ya know, you could make a gun that didn't cost $75+ and weighed 10 pounds. Whatever works. The LS is bulky enough to make this a singularly awkward idea. I recommend doing something homemade. ~Rork

My friend was talking to me about that idea yesterday. He said that you could put them side to side and connect the priming handle to make one long bar to prime them both and basically just put them together. So it would have two triggers. Or what I think would be that you could put them side to side and do a shotgun mod, and a double clip with two front gun integrations. that way you would have 4 shots in one.

It would work. Use a bracket like in FA_24s Eyes of fire.
Like rork said it would be way to costly to even be worth it. Also it would be very bulky, and even more impractical.

If you really want to have a kick ass, yet completely impractical, $80 longshot, go for it.

You could make something usable using 2 SNAPs bracketed together. The Eyes of Fire was awesome for 2 reasons: first, it is a highly complex mod that was carried out with style and applomb. Secondly, it was never intended for a nerf war; it's an ammo hog that takes forever to reload. It's useful for one thing: hosing down an Assassins opponent with foam. A well-modded LS already has a good balance between ROF, range, reload time, and ergonomics. Your mod would actually detract from its utility.

It really wouldnt be that hard, all you would have to do is connect thetrigger mech's together VIA metal tubing, and after maybe about an hour of trial and error, youl have it set up so it works.

But it wouldnt be worth the cash, if you really wanted to, just single your current LS and connect some tubing from the plunger up to a secondary barrel possibly on top.

I think I will try it. I haven't been able to mod my ls because the paint i used screwed up the screw heads and endeed up stripping them. I'm thinking a gun that shoots 2 shots 90 feet with decent rate of fire would be useful. I happen to love my double shot; it performs very well. Although it'd be nice to have something like the ds except that goes 90 feet instead of 30-40 feet and with a higher rof. Once i get 2 longshots i will post it in modifications with pictures and write up with a review.

And to the people who think it will be to bulky I will be minimizing the guns AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

I once drew a design sketch of a rig that would hold 2 recons and allow you to (in theory) have pump action and use it like a double barreled shotgun. I got almost everything mechanical figured out, and I've been wanting to build it for a long time. I might be able to scan the drawing and post a picture, if anyone cares.

If I made this, it would be smaller than a double longshot, though less powerful.

After a quick search, I found several threads regarding double LS's and double LS carbines. Have fun.
Double Longshot Carbine
Double Longshot Carbine revised

I think such a weapon would be overly impractical. One LS should be good enough for pretty much any situation. Still, go for it, post some pictures, show us how it's done. God speed :P .

Captain: Seeing your drawings would be helpful to me so i can see how you would build this insane weapon.

Shadowblade: Thanks. Once I get 2 longshots ,( hopefully for christmas ), I will start hopefully that day by modding each gun. Let everyone in the 'Haven hope this works. :P

You know, why would you want them to fire at the same time? That would completely defeat the purpose of a double longshot.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

I've had thoughts along those lines before. The main issues are priming difficulty and binding. If you're connecting two plungers to one drawbar, you're pulling back two rather strong springs at once. For good range, one spring can be a hard pull. Two would be difficult. Making it even harder is that the best way to pull back a spring is directly behind it. A pull for two would be offset, lowering the mechanical advantage, and increasing the chance that the plungers would bind up as you pulled them back.

Pluinger timing would also be an issue (if one started moving earlier/later than the other), but that's not insurmountable.

Since this is a speculation thread, I'm not going to worry about an interesting hijack. I was thinking two plunger tubes/plungers/firing assemblies, with one grip and one stock--sort of like your initial design for the SNAP-6, but enlarged and flipped 90'. Add a turret and a RSCB clip, and you've got yourself a monster.

I will post the link to it as soon as i find it.

I am sorry to admit it, but it was me that posted the original. That was during my concept thread madness but thanks to some members I stopped posting concept threads I would advise the creator of the thread to do the same. Here is the link. BTW no I don't think it will work anymore.
Edit: I have a bad feeling that this will be the next "half stefan" topic. No matter how many threads there are that already existing, someone has to post it again for no apparent reason.
Edit2:Everyone STOP POSTING. This idea is never going to happen and you guys are just feeding the flame of stupidity. If you are an admin and you are reading this, CLOSE THIS TOPIC PLEASE!

I like this idea, yet it would be heavy and cost much money. But if you Cpvced it and minimized it would not be as heavy. Or you should make an angle breech. Then put both of the cocking handles together. Then bolt it like FA_24 eyes of fire.

Bullet Dragon did that, and the only thing he was able to brag about was his "angle iron" was real iron. It was WAY to bulky and impractical to be used well, it sucked through a straw and it was all around a bad gun. It didn't work. Learn from him, don't do it.

I thought about something like this but with Magstirkes, then again with DTBs, then again with some other gun. Oh, mavericks. Anyway, its just a wet dream. No one will try it, and it won't work.

Well, here's an idea, why do they have to prime at once?
Simply make it two snaps with one trigger, priming two wouldn't take that long and the timing problem would be resolved, it would also make it more structurally sound, a crossbar like that would be prone to breakage/bending.
My 2 cents.
