I used to have that problem until I got circumcised. 15 pounds later I was able to stand up straight.

I've been out of town this week due to my girlfriend being hospitalized for appendix issues, so let me see what I can do about catching up here...
For starters, yeah, Bags is right about the "Sprinkler Scopes". They sat along the top of whatever gun they were mounted on, and the rear end swelled in a stepped manner, resembling a blocky scope. Case in point, "Scope". I don't think discussion needs to continue.
Renegade, I've added your take on the magnetic carriers, but so help me, those had better be some crappy or broken speakers you're ripping apart

JustSomeBob, I think that in order for anyone to really consider cutting a notch into the top of a gun for sighting purposes an accessory, you're going to have to do more than just cut a notch. Fact is, I DO consider that a perfectly viable sighting mechanism, and something to that affect could easily be added to our Sights/Scopes list here. But first, you'd probably have to make a viable write-up for said technique, and make it a bit more in-depth than "Cut here and look through it" with a picture. I doubt if anyone would really need instructions to cut a slot on top of their gun to sight through.
That being said, if you do it, I'll add it. But don't expect the whole of the community on these boards to let it pass without a iittle bit of jeering because, as we've both said...
...it's still just a slot in the top of your gun.

Of COURSE not! It was all me...And if there's one thing I've learned from having slots on my gun, it's that some warts never go away.
