Post up your thoughts. If there is something you want to see for next year mention it.

I'll post my thoughts later.

Just wanted to say it was fucking awesome. We (being my friend and I) did a whole lot better then we thought we would've, and also thank you badger for the guns. The best part was either winning the gunslinger, or when OMC threw up his c-bow and was like "SHIT". All in all, very very much worth all the fucking money I've spent on guns/ammo/tools/materials. Thank you guys for hosting it.

This war was pure excellence. I have to say that the best moment was possibly when Dark Shrimp(or at least I think it was Dark Shrimp) slid, fired at someone, and missed with two shots, but right after, the person got barrel tapped. I also enjoyed getting to put some faces to names, and all the names that were made up for my primary, Daedalus. I also did much better than expected, and I got some lucky shots too. Seeing the +bows and the big ass Titan rifles was cool. All and all it was a fabulous day.

I was afraid to shoot the admins, cause I thought they would ban me (I wasn't thinking). But I got a couple good hits on OMC that I just couldn't miss the chance to get. All in all, it was my first war, and it was amazing.

I am somewhat disappointed at today's war. We spent more time figuring out teams or just BS'ing then we did actually nerfing. That rain was brutal I loved running around in wet socks all day.

But it is always nice to see everybody again and to play with all you new guys.

Another thing I must say is that I feel like my guns are outdated. Playing with and against some of the guns that Foreskin and Slug have produced has showed me that I need to revamp my guns to compete with them.

EDIT: Among my many kills today by far the best was shooting Ice in the neck. It was the worst welt I have ever seen from a nerf dart. Come to think of it I shot a bunch of people in the face throughout the day too.

Being the biggest war I've ever been to, Apoc was a blast for me. Sure, we dicked around a bit, but we still kicked a lot of ass. 50+ rounds were Effeminate, we fought through the rain, the new/young kids kicked ass, I'm sore tonight, probably tomorrow too. Mission accomplished.

And yeah, thanks badger for unloading your arsenal. That was great stuff.

TS

*Edit* Yeah, no problem bio. Though you did rub like half the paint off of the handle. :) No harm done.

I'm pleased with my performance considering I had to take it easy in order to avoid screwing up the toe I had surgery on last week. Got in a great deal of good dodges, a decent amount of hits, and I got free cookies from the people that came all the way from Florida to attend.

I'm glad to be back. I have no idea where to begin. So I'll just start at the beginning.

Being as I've been out for like two years, I haven't kept up on the new guns. We showed up like in the middle of the first round and I'm looking at all these hell cannons these dudes are carrying around and I'm like, "What's that? What's that? What's that?" Then in my first round in two years, I get blasted in the face by those fucking hell cannon shot guns. Fuck you Forsaken, it still hurts. Needless to say there was some rust to be shaken off. After a few pistol rounds it started coming back to me. I think I owe this to Tank, who is officially the most metal dude I've ever met and that's really saying something, because I know alot of fucking metal dudes. We kind of went after each other during the pistol round and dudes such a good sport. We had a blast. The big 3 team woods battle was the best all day in my opinion. Lots of moving and flanking. Our team was down to like 7 dudes and we wanted to go out with some style, but fucking Groove's group rolled in on us with like twice as many dudes as we had and we got creamed.

I do feel bad about the rain though, because I left with Vacc to go to lunch and it was just pouring. I didn't even have a drop of rain hit me. On the way back though I think I saw the funniest damn thing I've ever seen. Some kid (sorry dude, no idea who you are) takes a pot shot at Megan (no idea if she's on the boards) and it falls like 5 feet in front of her. So she just shoots him right in the face. I just died laughing. God I love nerf. The later rounds were fun. If you asked me years ago whether I thought standing far away from each other taking pot shots was fun, I'd tell you to suck it, but really, the guns now perform so damn good that it's totally worth it.

My MVP's for this war:

Forsaken - Jesus christ man, that gun is insane. This one pretty much goes out to all the Canadian guys. You guys are fucking awesome, I definitely need to make a trip up there soon.

Groove - Your just too damn good man. I'm going to have to "accidently" hurt you some day just to level the playing field out. And you just add so much damn sex appeal.

Slug - Seriously man, you're changing the game. Your mods are incredible. I'll PM you about that thing, on the thing. I was completely blown away.

Special thanks to Shindig who I think had mutiple blood vessles pop in his head. It's great seeing you again man, I love it. Langley for letting me crash at his brothers house. Vacc for all the beer and hot loving. OMC for the darts, guns and hugs. The Mass. group for riding down, I'm coming up there as soon as I can.

And super special thanks goes out to Badger who not only let me use his lighter all day long, but also just gave me one of the coolest damn guns I've ever seen. I'm going to make a whole post on that thing. I was running around like a little fucking kid. I owe you one man, great meeting you.

I'm sure I've left a bunch of people out that I want to mention, but fuck it. Everyone was cool, the war was fucking huge, my legs feel like I got hit by a car, my lungs burn and I think I may need to go to the hospital. All the things I missed about nerf. But I'm fucking back and next war, I'm busting some skulls!

Talio.

When I first arrived at Apoc I was nervous. As soon as I got out of the car Skitzo showed me the way to the nerfers and the fun began. It was my first war, and a great day. The rain wasted about an hour but we still went on playing. I will never forget when forsaken looked at me and asked me who I wanted him to hit. It was also nice meeting Groove, Dark Shrimp, Forsaken, Slug, and OMC. P.s. Thanks for the PETG OMC.

This was my first war too. I had a great time and also got in alot of kills. I also got a chance to see the faces behind the avatars and see different fighting styles. I will always remember my first hit ever which was on keef when he was charging OMC. Hope to see everyone in the future.

Highlights:
Getting plenty of shots with my BBBB
The last battle in the multi teams, even though my team lost
Hitting at least 5 people in the Gunslinger round
Running away from the Doomsayers then turning around to shoot Foreskin in the ankle
Only having 3 welts at the end of the day
Plenty of "loser" shots
Meeting the Canadians
Being on OMC's and Evil's teams almost every round
Evil, keef, tom and I making the final charge during the 1st or 2nd round
Team Slaya, Megan and I making a last stand in the second to last round, where i arched a shot over 3 people to hit Groove

Not so Highlights:
My BS blowing all for 4 valves before the first round started, so I had to borrow keef's BBBB(Thanks!)
The rain...I was one of the many unfortuanate people without an umbrella/poncho
Getting shot by a chimera in the last round, then got shot by a Doomsayer a second later
Sliding behind a tree only to be hit by Analogkid who was on te other side of the tree

I got in at around 1:30 this morning, showered, collapsed, and finally woke up sometime around noon. My whole body feels like it's been steamrolled.

Yesterday was truly awesome, what more can be said? The drive up from Virginia was both horrendous and expensive, but you can't really argue against a solid day of Nerfing with around 50 other people. I'm so used to dealing with smaller, skirmish-style fights and Apoc really forces you to approach conflicts in a different nature. Dealing with upwards of 30 enemies at one time on a large-scale field is both physically and mentally taxing. You can't afford to be distracted or lose sight of your positioning, you always have to be thinking ahead. Somehow I managed, though - and survived the 8 hour drive home.

Personal highlights:
  • Over 50 people Nerfing at one point yesterday. Total awesomesauce. Need I say more?
  • Seeing some familiar faces of the vets, and meeting a plethora of newblood.
  • Seeing the Canadian crowd led by Forsaken (Foreskin?) and their Doomsayers in action.
  • Seeing the Canadians' own "Maple Leaf" Nerf Jerseys inspired by my similar doing.
  • Getting to Nerf (again) with the Goddamned Nerf Viking: Talio. Love you, man.
  • Leading an awesome team into the fray in the 4-team DM in Resurrection Forest and totally dominating.
  • Scoring several moving/pursuit shots, many double-hits, and a handful of headshots throughout the day.
  • No Effeminate showdown against VACC in Gunslinger's Heaven, but I did manage to make it all the way to the end.
  • Sharing an umbrella with none other than Evil, Shindig, and DarkShrimp. Circle jerk, anyone?
  • Getting to "play Patton" during a couple rounds, I probably did more ordering than shooting. My throat hurts.
  • Witnessing Evil's and Slug's skillful dodging of darts all throughout the day. It was rather fun to watch.
  • Getting pelted by Skitzo and Texansharpshooter during the second to last 2-team DM in the Grove.
Decidedly, we did spend a little too much time picking teams yesterday, upwards of 10 minutes at one point. Thats the only thing I can really critique on, other than Mother Nature's noncooperation (which, subsequently we had no control over). Perhaps next year we can streamline the picking system. Other than that, the day was awesome and the war was totally rad. I did fairly well overall, and only got completely eliminated during 3 rounds which I found rather odd. The 4-team DM in Resurrection Forest was my best round by far, for several reasons. My team listened to me, took the orders well, didn't splinter off, and we moved and functioned like a team's supposed to function - with confidence and precision. Orange tape: you all know who you are. You all rocked.

Looking forward to next year's Apoc, and I hope to see some of you come down for DCNO in September.

Yeah that was a totally kick ass war. Thanks again to Paul and everyone else for organizing it. Was great to meet the people from around the boards. Very cool meeting with FA getting some feedback on some ideas of mine.

Highlights:
Talio was the viking king of the day.
When we split in round 5 or so for pistols (4 people) and another primary round, the pistol people were done fucking around before we had even finished picking teams. HA that was the 4 team round that Talio and my team got owned in.
The canadians were awesome, especially for being so good despite only playing about twice a year (according to FA).
My vulcan did mess itself up before we had even started, so I ended up borrowing a carbined LS which was outranged by basically everything all day, making me close to last pick almost every time for teams :). Edit:Thanks again to the Massachusetts guys; no sarcasm intended. This was much better than not playing at all, and I loved the chimera axe monsters.
Gunslinger heaven with Florida kid
FA "Quit admiring the gun and shoot someone" to Talio. Was funny as hell, but I guess you had to be there. Talio was just in the middle of the grove talking to no one about how awesome the gun (currently unmentionable, but admittedly awesome) he borrowed from Slug was.
Getting ice a total of 4 times, including one in the neck from about 15 feet.

If anyone hasn't figured it out yet, we broke our attendance record yesterday. Getting 50+ people together on the same field is exceedingly rare these days, and I was really happy to see all the new and old faces out there. I hope to see everyone again next year. And when you come, bring a friend so we can break 100.

---

I was afraid to shoot the admins, cause I thought they would ban me (I wasn't thinking). But I got a couple good hits on OMC that I just couldn't miss the chance to get. All in all, it was my first war, and it was amazing.

The first thing I will say is that we joke around quite a bit about banning people. Secondly, by showing up to a war you just proved to us that you've nerfed at least once in your life. That does count for quite a bit in our books, since there are far too many people here that do nothing more than post and waste bandwidth.

---

I am somewhat disappointed at today's war. We spent more time figuring out teams or just BS'ing then we did actually nerfing.

Decidedly, we did spend a little too much time picking teams yesterday, upwards of 10 minutes at one point. Thats the only thing I can really critique on, other than Mother Nature's noncooperation (which, subsequently we had no control over). Perhaps next year we can streamline the picking system.

I totally agree. This was a topic that was addressed for quite a while at the post war gathering at the neighborhood CrApsuperiores. I expect to address this issue for next year's war and would like to improve in this area. Vacc and Famine seem to be interested in helping us streamline this area more effectively, and I'll look into that. People seem committed to making next year's Apoc bigger and better than ever, and I'm willing to put all of my energy into that.

I think we specifically want to focus on making the rounds more fluid and splitting the group up a little more during the option rounds.

---

As I said earlier, it was great to see all the new people out. I saw some very promising moves by several people out there yesterday. I'd like to see more of you hosting wars. They don't have to be large scale like Apoc, but I'd like to see some new blood entering the hosting arena. Post a topic and see if you can get interest for a war of 10-20 people. That's how we keep people active and make the bigger wars even better, since more people have experience on the field. I'd like to focus more on Apoc next year and less on the other wars I've traditionally hosted, so don't expect a lot out of me other than when it comes to Apoc.
  • Notables:
  • Rover (Florida) and the Canadians traveling those extreme distances to attend. You're ok in my book.
  • All the other people who traveled more than an hour to play with plastic guns. You guys were great and made me feel less insane.
  • Seeing those Doomsayers in action. Forsaken (foreskin) and Cardiac were certainly very effective with them.
  • Leading some decent rushes and making some decent shots throughout the day.
  • The small pistol round with only seven of us. Tank chased me and I had to run like hell. Good show.
  • The umbrella. We won't speak of this ever again.
  • Both primary rounds we had in the Forrest (2-team & multi-team).
  • Getting popped in the nose by a Doomsayer from 60' to knock me out of the final round.
  • The mini old-timer reunion. Leave it to you guys to come back right when I'm ready to ride off into the sunset, and convince me to stay. Bastards...I mean I love you guys.
  • CrApsuperiores after the war with some of the attendees.
Most impressive new face: Yazz (The guy with the manta ray.)
Commendable: The two dad's that joined us for a few rounds.
Nickname that I hope sticks: Chem Goggles

Thanks to everyone for coming out and I hope to see you around.

Best war I've ever been to.

Even with the long gaps between rounds, we still had like, 20 different rounds at least.

Good:

Jumping, aiming over the bush in the grove, shooting, and hitting someone over it!
Shooting FA twice, becoming his "Target", then getting shot by him in the teeth.
Having my 3k work out great with ROF.
Meeting everybody, buying and trading.

Not so good:
Having my 4k not fit my stefans.
Not having enough stefans.
Getting shot in the mouth by FA.
Multi Team round.
Missing Gunslinger Heaven for a turkey sandwich.
The horse shit in the portajohn.

Can't wait till the next Apoc, and the 16th for NJwar!

I haven't been on here in a while and for those who care, I'm the Mass kid with the manta.

I had an absolute blast yesterday, from start to finish. That was my first war like that I'd ever been to and it exceeded all of my expectations. That day was totally worth the money and time and all the crap I had to go through to get there. I can't wait to see more pictures and I think I saw a video camera at some point.

The multi-team battle was defiantly the highlight in my opinion, especially since I was on Orange tape and lasted the whole battle. The bits in the grove were a little frustrating for me seeing as I had an LnL against a line of crossbows, Canadian shotguns and titan-cannon things, with almost no cover, but it was still impressive to watch. Funtime.

Also, my thighs and feet hate me right now...

I remember we did a good bit of rushing together, me and the kid with the manta ray. There was ALOT of flanking, which was fun, but took a while to walk around most of the field. Teaming up with the Canadians was fun. They saved my ass a couple times.

This was definitely the best war i have ever been to. Hopefully battle for New York will become like that (the Nerf war clan nightshift hosts).

Highlights include
- Being on groove's team in that huge 4 team battle, as well as dishing out a large number of taps that round.
- Meeting the Canadian crew. They where really awesome.
- playing in a HUGE game. 50+ people is ridiculous, especially considering our home games almost never reach 20 people.
- getting shot in the head with the titan looser rifle, and because of the attempted dodge almost flipping myself over.
-last but not least, breaking my crossbow AGAIN, thats now once at every major war i have been to.

To hersh: I accidentally left with you're bungee cords on my crossbow. I was planning on buying them from you but texansharpshooters dad wanted us to leave early. If its alright with you i will pay you for them the next time i see you at a war.
