Well I recently discovered that someone out there decided to make their version of the Lancer.
I doubt they are a member here so I will post some photos of my discovery. Even though it is missing a lot of things that makes The Lancer, a Lancer. It is still awesome.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Ha! looks good. I'm really digging the paint job. It's got a funky rugged look.

Forgive my spelling and grammar. I post from my cell phone a lot. Sometimes when I'm on the can at work.

It looks as if they made the skull with hot glue an then painted over it... Odd technique that I have to try now...

I found a video of it

It's a wonderful looking gun, but I don't like how he acts like it was totally his idea in the video.
I dunno, it just seems that you deserve at least a mention, angel.

Can somebody tell me the name of the youtube video? For a reason I have no time to explain, youtube links don't work for me, I'll have to search for it.

Chainsaw mod Longshot Heavy Bolter

I like the paint job, but its not quite up to the standards I would expect from an imitation. Looks really bad, and "It shoots really well, ranges are about 60ft" that really isnt that good, again Angel breach it (you are the god of longshots aren't you?) and you can squeeze much better ranges out of it. Heck, even without an Angel breach, you can get low 90's with the longshot, better spring and great seal.

Anyway, all in all, if this guy tris to sell it on Ebay, he won't get more then the lancer, and someone should inform him that a superior human being already made one... better...

Low 90's without a proper breech and barrel? Please tell me how because apparently I've been doing all the wrong things.

*Edit* Some newbie is already flaming him on youtube... "Looks like some 5 year old superglued a chainsaw to a longshot and colored it with crayons" my ass.

I just have one thing to say about both of the "lancers" I have seen: They look as much like a lancer as the longshot looks like a .50 cal rifle. It is an assault rifle looking weapon with a chainsaw and lights. That's it. If you stand back 20 feet and squint, they look like lancers. It would be awesome if somebody actually made a pretty close replica ;)

I got an idea, how about you try it. In my opinion, none of them will get closer then Angels.

The guy actually didn't try to make a lancer. A Space Marine Heavy Bolter is from Warhammer 40k. I just don't know why he didn't give FA24 any credit when he mounted the chainsaw pretty much exactly like he did.

I just referred to his since he had "lancer" in it. I realize that he wasn't making a lancer, although he referred to the lancer.

Aww..., it's so cute. I'd say its about half of what lancer is. And FA, how much did it go for on ebay? I did'nt see the auction ending. I do like the skull though, it adds a nice touch. Omeaga, how can you see a barrel post? It's all black on the inside? I can't see anything.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

The Lancer sold for $1050... I'm still in awe about that. Kudos to you FA24

Hah. I agree. This guy in the video is acting like it was all his idea, and that it is awesome. He clearly has no modding skill, because I got my longshot to shoot 80ft and that was my first mod ever! I think someone should email him and tell him that 60ft out of a longshot is nothing. He is selling it, just so everyone knows. Im not going to post the link, but it's on ebay.

Settle down people. This guy gives Forsaken Angel credit for his mod in the first sentence of his description for the ebay sale.

Although, how FA24's mod is infamous, Im not sure.

"Ok guys, here we have a fresh out of the box Longshot that has been given the now infamous Forsaken Angel 'Lancer' mod, meaning that this gun has fully functioning and roaring chainsaw on the front"

He gives credit wo where credit is due, but you can pretty much tell its a ploy to make money off a mod someone else did. What a big man there, Angel, does this mean you have a new target to rip limb from limb? Or can we just criticize him over the internet like good little nerds?

It's infamous because it was talked about on over two hundred websites, including Gizmodo. And a LOT of people browse nerfhaven, that aren't members. For every member browsing, it seems there are about 5 guests.

What is wrong with making money off of it? It obviously isn't going to go as high just because it isn't a lancer, but who cares? If it weren't for people using other people's ideas, we wouldn't have half of the awesome technology that we do. Atari is a pioneer of home gaming, but it is no longer at the forefront. It is mostly because Japanese people can make stuff better. How many people criticize Nintendo for making video games just because they weren't the first? I would much prefer to be like the Japanese and make someone else's idea ten times better, rather than have a good, original idea with crappy implementation. This isn't meant to be angry or sound angry. I just wanted to point that out.

This is the way humanity works, bulding off previous generatons of thought. The Wright brothers bult of Leonardo Divinche's
plans and calculations. This is why were not in the stone-ages today. On topic tho, This is not an improvement from FA's work, just different (negatively).

If FA didn't want it to be copied, done, or inspired from, why would he post it?

I know he is all about contributions to the NIC and wants people to do his mods. I mean, I know I feel good when people do something I've done, or ask for help about it.

I'm not sure if anybody has seen this before, but here is a video of another Lancer made out of a Longshot, but his doesn't shoot.

Probably not an imitation, because it says that it was actually posted on Youtube two days before FA had posted his mod here.

Yeah, I remember seeing that a good while ago. I don't think it was done because of F_a24 anyway. Forsaken's is a very, very loose approximation of the lancer that actually works, and that guy's has pretty good looks and doesn't function.

I have seen that before. It could use a better paint job and its missing the lights but I do like how the chainsaw looks. Shame it doesn't work. Did anyone else see the waste of a LnL in that video? See if you can find it.

Getting back on topic here I only have this to say about the War hammer Lancer.

Although it is not 100% identical to mine its still pretty cool. Sure its missing the lights, the sights, the Angel breech, the reinforced stock and it still has its handle on the top. But he did an excellent job of mounting it. The paint job is pretty cool too. The only thing I don't like is the cartoonish skull but thats just me. I prefer my skulls looking as real as possible. Some people prefer other things.

As far as I am concerned he put a lot of work into it and got creative with the paint job. For that I respect him. I don't expect people to duplicate my modifications and see their version turn out better than mine. But if it does happen they have probably learned from my mistake(s) or saw something I have not. If that is the case I/we will learned a thing or two for next time.

The M7 SMG? It was hard to tell, but the handle gave it away. I wonder how on earth they made those things.
EDIT: It also said in the description "The SMG is a modded Nerf Lock-N-Load".
