Alrighty. Dont say anything about the maverick sucking in this thread. I like the gun. Plain and simple. I just have a question on it though.
the mod:

the question: why use this piece?

It's the same diameter as the plunger tube, fits into place, and can easily keep the spring in place when gooped/epoxyed. Keep it simple.

But what about the tip of the mavericks plunger that seals the turret? Doesnt that go in the nf plunger tube?

It is to hold the spring. Without it all the power of the spring is on the catch and the catch can't move.

This eice goes on the back of the plunger tube. The tip goes on the front.

Any idea how to get that nice, neat square hole in the back for the plunger rod? I'm planning to make a Scout-finder this summer for the hell of it.

No problemo.

For the hole, you can just use wire dutters.

I looked to see if that would work better than a cf since i have an extra scout shell and i dont really think it will fit... Good luck though.

It will barely fit in a Mav. It definitely won't fit in a Scout without some work. I'll need to cut panels out of the side of the main scout and glue the cocking slide in place over them. I've worked it out; it should just barely fit inside the slide.

Yeah, that was when I first had the idea. I didn't have a chance to work on it last summer, but I've collected the parts and done most of the planning. I'll definitely post when it's done.
