Cool, i'm new here and this might just be my first [big] nerf war...and I only live 20 minutes away!...well...can you count me in because i'm probably going to go...and do paintball masks or airsoft goggles count as good enough goggles?

That's great! Paintball masks are pretty much overkill as far as nerf guns go (certainly for those that are legal) so you'll be plenty legal.

That being said, I'm pretty sure it's a universally accepted unspoken rule that your head instantly becomes target numero uno...

No, there are definitely rules - I'm not hosting this but Falcon's done enough wars to where I'm almost certain he will go over rules before teams are made. There are no mandatory universal "rules" but there are a set of rules that a large majority of the wars you'll see advertised on here abide by.

That being said, I suggest you check out the "Nerf War Etiquette" article posted at the top of this forum. It's got alot of info on rules and how not to subconsciously act or appear like a jacktard. Hope that helps.

I've heard my fair share of compound expletives, as have we all. We're all familiar with the ol' standby "asshat", among many others.

I must say, I've never heard "jacktard" before. And it quite possibly made my day.

On a serious note:
I'll give a quick rundown of rules and etc. at the location, once we decide social hour is over and we want to shoot each other. Giving you reading material right now might be useful, but it doesn't change the fact that I'll say it all again the day of, so I'm not going to burden myself with the effort of writing it out. You can use a computer well enough, so I'm sure learning on the spot is within your mental capacity.

It is with great regret I must inform the Community that I cannot make the trip out to the LEFT coast this year. I started Graduate School recently and that means:

1) It's next to impossible for me to afford to go now after paying for that.
2) I have class on the Friday before the war. That screws up my available flights.
3) Grad School is full time and I don't have a job for now. See #1.

I was hoping to make it out there this year again for another killer summer of nerfing. This just means I will have to work harder and kick more ass out here on the East Coast to retain my "bad ass" status.
