Probably, unless somebody figures out a way to put a brass or PVC or even PETG barrel on the bad boy.

Is it just me or is hasbro secretly trying to teach kids how to use squad automatic weaponesque nerf guns to train future soldiers?

Now on to the serious stuff. The gun kind of looks cumbersome, but I think it would be a good and challenging addition to any indoor war. Stock or otherwise, it'll be letting out a good amount of foam which won't easily be dodged.

Lol, of course it's supposed to be cumbersome, it's modeled after a .50 CAL machine gun and it has a tripod. Mabye with quite a bit of minimization this gun could be wielded comfortably but until then this is going to be an important weapon to wield whe defending a flag.

Forgive my stupidity, but I just thought of something! Looking at the pictures of the expansion belt, it looks like they come in packs of 20, and the Vulcan itsself comes with 40. Lets go off the pricing of the extra clips, assume about, oh, $8 for each additional belt. 40 bucks for the main gun and 25 bucks for the ammo will score you a belt with a 100 shot capacity. Okay, you may ask, but what's my point?

What if you just looped the damn belt? It's all interchangable, so why not just clip the ends of the now megabelt together and have someone who's sole purpose is reloading? It can't fire that fast, can it? mabye a round a second or so? A good reloader should be able to get 80% of the belt reloaded and allow for some kickass constant fire. Along those same lines, you could position 2 vulcans in a row, have one or more reloaders inbetween, and with enough ammo belts, have a nasty wall of constant fire.

But alas, that is just a crazy thought I had while playing TF2 as an engineer. Who knows if it would work, but whoever gets one first should try it out, let us know if a constant wall of fire is possible!

Or just have extra belts, and have the reloader load them and assist in putting in the new chain.

*edit* This would be like trying to load a rf20 wile it is shooting.

Don't want to shove balls in tight spaces. Trust me, bad idea.

We try to stay away from aim speak here. In anycase, I think it's modeled more after the squad automatic weapon which is .30 cal I believe. It sure does look it.

Actually, SAW is a type of weapon. The most used SAW in the US inventory is .223 but is being upgraded to .308.

eh, it was just an idea. I guess we'll see when it comes out. Regardless, the abilty to do that is just freaking awesome, even if you do need to stop firing for a moment and let your loader, well, load.

That'd better not be an insult.

Now, seeing as I am a cheap bastard and would never pay for lots of D-Cells, I would go about making this thing manual, using the bolt to charge and advance the belt.

I don't think it would be that hard to convert it to run off of rechargeable batteries kind of like an RC car

Yeah, I kinda laugh at all the people who complain about the 6 D batteries. I doubt I'll even buy the stock batteries, since I'll have it running on lithium polymer batteries in about 5 minutes.

I haven't posted any speculation or anything in this thread yet, so I'll put this. Is anyone other than me thinking that doing a barrel replacement on this gun will be a major pain?

1. With shells constantly moving past the "barrel" and air supply, and it being unlikely that the shells are locked into the two, making a perfect seal would be a big pain in the butt.

2. Just about everyone who gets this will be buying extra chains and somehow attaching them together. (no matter what, someone is going to find a way to do this) Dremelling out over 50 shells and putting a barrel in them is also very time consuming and annoying.

Unless of course, someone completely saws off the entire front part of the gun...

Plus, as I mentioned, barrel material will start getting expensive.

It looks like the front of the gun is going to be detachable.

No it doesnt. It just wont be.

Anyways, if you use OMC PETG it wouldnt be too expensive. If you use three inches a cartridge, and there are twentyfive cartridges in each chain then that would be less than $3.50 for every chain you have, which is not that expensive at all. But I can agree that it would take a while to mod the chain to fit the PETG, unless the cartridges are like the RFR and DS shells.
