Where did you guys happen to find one of these? I didn't see them on Target's website and the only one on amazon was like $45 And wow a $20 price tag.

They aren't weapons. Don't call them weapons. They're only weapons if you make them so.

Though somebody walked out of the nerf aisle with the last 3 recons as I was entering it, I do believe Toys R Us now has them on shelves. Some people were guessing earlier that it would be more expensive, but it is also $20.00

If you don't see any on the shelf, ask a sales associate to check the stockroom for you. That's what I did when I went to Target.

Excitement! This gives me hope that a quest to local shopping centers would not be entirely in vain.
Just out of curiosity (I live in Kansas City, MO), has anyone sighted a Recon in the Midwest?

EDIT: Also, can we reflect on the above picture, and how AWESOME the Magstirke kid looks?

My local Target has yet to restock in the wake of "day after Christmas" sales.

I called to ask if they had the Recon.
The man replied on the phone, "No sir, we all out of the Nerf."

Upon checking personally the next day, the man was correct.
The place looked like it had been robbed.

They were all out of the Nerf.

M30, Kansas City Kansas Nerfer here. Sup?

I was in Hutchinson, Kansas near Wichita with my relatives and found a Recon there. They seemed to have reached the midwest fine, although the one I found was alone and tagless. The green flashlight rail attachment was also for sale.
I bought it, brought it home, and opened up the gun.

The thing is quite useless. Shoots horribly, especially with the goddamn streamline darts. Modwise, I can't really see what people could do with this thing, but it seems to be just another Maverick - A gun with a cool concept that could never perform to the standards of the nerf guns we're already using. I really wouldn't reccomend buying this, shed an extra ten dollars for an extra longshot, rather than this.

You could always use Stefans.

I think he was referring to its modification potential. Not it stock attribues. And I know that you aren't that dumb. It just doesn't add up... Been smoking some?
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.

You know what... I know it's kinda late... but Props Cole.

That's it!
If it's in Hutch, it's in KCMO.
I will find it.

Tomorrow, we ride!

Karma:
Point taken. Right now though, my Nerf-needs are not monumental. I got to college at Truman State, in Kirksville, MO, where we're having our second-ever game of Humans vs. Zombies. Of the people that play that game, not a whole lot of them mod (you can tell by the number of brand new mavericks everywhere...).

So I think with a little work, the Recon should serve my purpose for a close-range weapon with a good rate of fire. Plus, I'm totally sold on the clip-fed system, but not yet bitchin' enough to make my own stefans. So streamlines it is. Presently I'm working on getting the most out of them with e-tape and weights.

At the very least, even if the gun is a complete waste, I know there's a rail attachment I can cannibalize for a flashlight mod I want to do on my Longshot, and an extra clip for that as well.

Yes, the gun isn't a complete waste at all. I found the gun comfortable to use and the rail attachments are a great addition. The flip up sight on the gun was surprisingly functional, and can be used to make long distance angle shots that are quite accurate. If anything, it's one of the most "fun" guns I've bought. It's great for indoor and close range wars because it's easy to aim and fits so well in your hand. (My favorite set up is the pistol with attached stock, I find the attachable barrel and laser to be too cumbersome.)
It's a great gun, but the modding potential is slim, from what I've seen.
