I got in the car and opened this thing up. I loaded the darts in and added 3 AA batteries (not included with the gun.) I turned on the gun by pressing the switch that was conveniently located by my right pointer finger. With a whirr the gun came to life. I shot it and it went a measily 10' if that. I had some work to do.
At home, I opened up the gun and looked at my options. This is what I saw:

The gun had seemed to atleast fire nicely thanks to the good engineering by Buzz Bee. But like it's brother the Double Shot, it had distance issues. The motors on this gun were just pitiful.
I changed this by adding two 30k Xmods motors to it that I had lying around. The motors were not the same size and it took some doing to get them to fit right. Of course, Murphy was standing over my shoulder when I was soldering the new motors on. I wired one of the motors backwards so it went the same direction as the other one. This meant that the darts wouldn't shoot out do to the wheels spinning the same way. They need to spin opposite ways to fire the darts out. I re-soldered the wires and added an extra line to the outside of the gun just in case I wanted to add more power later. I put the gun back together and turned it on. It whirred to life again, only this time, much louder. I was pleasantly suprised when it shot 40' flat. This may not seem like a lot, but after shooting 10' stock, I was happy with the results.
All in all, the Tommy 20 is not the best gun on the market. The weak distances will confine you to indoor wars only. The loud noise will then cancel any chance of stealth, but there are also a few pluses to this gun. The adjustable stock feels nice along with the grip. The best part about this gun is the semi-auto feature. This gives you a chance to conserve your shots until when you need them, something the RF20 lacks. There is no pumping and the 3 AA batteries will give you some nice power with a motor replacement.
To conclude, I would not recommend this gun to anyone that can't solder. A motor replacement is a must if you want this gun to shoot over 10'. The accuracy is somewhat lacking, and this will not be used in many wars effectively. Get this gun if you like your Double Shot, but not if you want a practical gun.
