When I first got the little guy it looked alot like this.

A dart would slide over the little pole and then you would shoot it. Here is a pic of the internals after I cut the barrel off.

I sawed the barrel off at the base and slapped a 2" barrel of 17/32" on there. I sanded down the plastic and a bit of the brass so the epoxy had something to bite into. Then I just carefully put it back together. For those of you who havent seen how this gun functions, There is a handle on the belly of the creature that unfolds from its base and pops out as a makeshift handle. Here are a few pics.

Here is the belly of the scarab you can see where the handle pops out. (above)
Here is a pic of the handle out and ready to fire. (below)

the wings open up and the front two arms pull apart when you pull back on the plunger then you let go and they snap back together. Pretty cool looking. I took a video so you guys can see the wings and arms motion.
Way of the Scarab
I am pleased with the gun to be honest. It gets about 40-45 feet on average with a BB weighted asshole dart. This creature feels like more of a slingshot then a gun but its fun to own and looks good in the arsenal because of its unique colors and firing style.
(Kirby I got another first to add to your directory!)
