How can I tell when I've finished a WU?

I'll try to make this my last conversation-like post, but it could benefit anyone else with questions.Oooh! I get it.
How can I tell when I've finished a WU?
When you look at your console, and it's running, you'll see it say "Completed step 14500 out of 500000 steps." you'll know it's finished when it not only says "Completed step 500000 out of 500000 steps" but you'll also be able to check "wuinfo.txt" and look at the progress bar. When you're done, I expect the console to say "work unit finished", "sending information" and then you'll check the F@H scoreboard for team NH, and see if you're on the list.
Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

How about right now?Hey Cx, can we get a scoreboard update tomorrow evening?
Welcome to Uncle_Hammer, BlackWrath, and Dark Shrimp since the last update!
Team NH is at 2204 of 39248 right now. We were on pace to break the 2k mark around this time but I lost production from more than half of my machines starting last thursday and am only getting them running again today. Given that, I expect we should hit 2000th place this weekend.
baelnorn has clung to the 2nd spot for a few days now and The_Trouble has moved into the top 5. With all the new participants, the competition is heating up quite a bit!
It's never too late to join the fun, sign yourself (or a friend) up now!

No, I just like seeing a nice screenshot in Cx's posts, and reading his comments, and team placing forcasts. You know you can see that info yourself right? Go to the front page and click our team link in Cx's post. I think this is what your trying to ask right?
I know how to view team stats, and my own personal stats.
EDIT:
My past 3 WUs have been measured in "Steps" rangeing from 50000 to 1000000, my biggest and latest one. I've just checked my console, and my WU is now being measured in "Frames", and isn't using core 82, it's using core 65. I'm confused as to what this means, and why "Tinker" is of significance. I'm also wondering how long these WUs usually last, because it doesn't have a 65/600 frames counter. All I know is I'm done 70 frames of my WU, with no end in sight.
Does anyone know whats going on?

Each of the five cores has slightly different output to the log file and completely different ways of measuring their progress. This is inherent in the fact that they're doing different types of actual computations. Most of them output something like the following to the FAHlog.txt file:As for the different types of work units, that's normal. At any given time, there are about a hundred different studies going on, utilizing one of five different 'cores' which each enable different types of projects. You could be using AMBER, GROMACS, DGROMACS, TINKER, or PMD. For info on the specific project you're working on, find a match in your log file for one of these work unit names.
DGROMACS and GROMACS:
[15:46:27] Completed 71000 out of 100000 steps (71)
PMD:
[22:49:52] Completed 177500 out of 250000 steps (71)
The number of steps/frames will vary quite a bit, even within the same core, the number in parentheses is the actual percentage completed. In both of the examples above, the WU is 71% done. I generally just subtract the timestamp for two consecutive entries and multiply by 100 to get a WU time estimate, then go to the above link to find out about the specific project and how many points I'm going to get for it.

I must've skipped past your little explanation of the 5 cores, and their behaviors.

Once you make an exception it's all downhill from there. I'd have to write "Hey Brother/Sister/Person Of Unspecified Gender/..."I wanna know why no one ever gives a shout out to the sisters on the boards....
Besides, on the net we're all hot chicks anyway.
I will edit the topic title with a shout out for the sisters if and only if you submit a work unit to the cause.
Edit:
Black Wrath, it's been a while since I've been assigned a Tinker and I couldn't find any in my logs. It's probable that the (number) reflects the number of frames, Tinkers having either 20, 100, or 400 total frames. You can find the number of frames for your particular WU in the link above. Sorry for the confusion - it's a percentage in all the other cores.

Welcome to MattPaintballer and congrats to baelnorn who remains in second place.
Team NH is now 2010 of 39285 - I'll go out on a limb here and predict we break into the top 2000 tomorrow. Today we passed the teams from both Yale and Georgia Tech.
Keep adding those CPUs!

We broke 2000 today! We're 1976 of 39289, and still climbing. I hope the top 1000 know we're coming, and going for gold.

Since the data feed gives more credence to the EOC numbers, I'm going to use those from now on. Happy 1946th place everybody! Go check out the link above for more detailed stats. The charts are a bit screwed up since they only have 15 hours of historical data for us, but over time it should be interesting.
Our next stats milestone is 800th place because that's the cutoff at which Extreme OC starts storing historical data for the individual users of a team and noting trends among them. Cool stuff.
Congrats all!

That is so cool. They project us to be 75000+ points by the end of August? Wow. I really hope we can do that.~Everything~
I'm book marking that page now. Is there any use for the F@H stats page now, if it's not accurate?

We're going to do many times that growth. The current projection is based on a daily average of 371 points which was our midnight point update last night. We generally run around 3,000 points a day so that growth estimate is off by nearly one order of magnitude. Check it again in two days and you will be stunned how steep our graph line is compared to the teams near us.That is so cool. They project us to be 75000+ points by the end of August? Wow. I really hope we can do that.
The only use for the F@H stats page is that it's currently the only way to rank the members within our team. In a month or so when we hit the top 800, Extreme OC will take over that job as well.

There are also little rivalries forming in the lower echelons also.
Myself, Dark Shrimp, and earl_the_bunny are duking it out, only a few points apart.
This is kind of fun, without really doing anything (except check the stats every now and then).
Fold on, dudes!

Not idiot.Sorry to sound like an idiot but how do we play?
Just go to the front of this thread and read the basics. Join Folding@Home and download the console of choice. Complete work units with unused CPU cycles on your comp (read that; do nothing, really).
Go to the NerfHaven F@H stats page every now and then to check on your progress.
Taunt and be taunted by those within 100 points of you, because as work units get completed, scores go back and forth as you move up the placement roster.
Have a good laugh or two.
That's it. Sorry to disappoint you if you were expecting a first-person shooter, side scrollers, or guns, or grenades, or missiles, or Claymores. Just numbers and stats, and overall a good cause for the NIC to get involved in, in a somewhat amusing way.
This is the perfect way for the NIC to give something to the world, one WU at a time. We can go out and Nerf while our computers do what they do best: Compute.
That basically sums it up.
