Well this is my effort to make the best longshot there is. I already figured out the breech, so I wanted more. This involved an integration.

I chose a hornet because the trigger location can be anywhere, I got some internals cheap, and because they can be more reliable/durable than pin release tanks; that's if you get good ones.

The biggest problem in this was I wanted it to be clean, so that means no external tubing, internal pump, no excessive shell cutting, and it should look nice overall.

Lets get to work!

Materials
2 hornet tanks
3/16 wye 53055K154
3/16 to 1/8 reducer 53055K126
1/8 tubing coupler barbed
1/8 id 1/4 od vinyl tubing
1/4 id 3/8 od (I think) vinyl tubing
1/8 vinyl tubing coupler Barbed not push to connect
Spiderman dartag pump (SdtgP)
#10 screw size nylon spacers 3/8 od
two 6in sections of petg/ airgun barrel
various 6/32 screws
1/2 thick polycarb (not a lot)

*Important-The majority of the cuts in the shell SHOULD NOT be made with a dremel. Take your time use a hobby knife, file, or small hacksaw. The dremel can make uneven/ rough cuts, and you dont want it cutting tubing.

Start off by making your breech. It can not use the boltsled because it will get in the way of your pump.
A good one to use is my breech seen here. Make sure you read all the updates in that thread, and use two bolts in the bolt not one.

Once your breech is done reinforce the shell. I did this to help contain the awesome power of a [k26], and I don't want it breaking.

Posted ImagePosted Image

Cut down your SdtgP 11/16
Posted Image

Drill a 11/64 hole in the pump or wide enough for the ls bolt to fit through.
Posted Image
The length from the end is not specified it is the right length to get the largest stroke.

Do some shell cutting like the pictures.
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
This is how the pump should fit in.
Notice how the tubing comes from underneath the trigger, and goes into where the stock used to slide.
At the end of the stock tubing is where you add your 1/8 tubing coupler.

Take a hornet blast button add a pin like Boom13
Also gooop in the 1/4 od vinyl tubing in some 1/4 id vinyl tubing which should be gooped in the blast button.

Time for more shell cutting.

That's how it should end up fitting.

You want to cut the shell and orange piece so the tubing can go underneath the clip/orange piece.
Posted Image

Now for the fun part getting the hornet to fit.
cut the shell on both sides like so.
Posted Image

Drill a hole through the front, it is best to use a hand drill, unless you have a standing drill press. This should fit your barrel material, and do it on both sides.
Posted Image

When your done your hornet tanks should fit like this.
Posted Image

Add 6in of your barrel material, and cut off most of that green/brown thing.
Use e-putty to secure it down on the inside and outside.
Posted ImagePosted Image

Use the wye to get the two tanks together, and once you got the tanks together use the ectra hornet tubing to make a loop to put your reducing coupler on, which will attach to the 1/8 id tubing.

Posted Image
That is what it should look like.
Black= tank 1
green= tank 2
red= hornet tubing
blue=wye
yellow=reducer
light blue=1/8 tubing

Now for your breech make a .5x.5x2.5 piece of polycarbonate.
On both ends drill 11/64 holes, and attach it to your breech.
Posted ImagePosted Image

Now close up your shell and make sure everything was in place.
You will not be able to re-open it.

E-putty the other hornet tank to the shell.

Now make a 7 3/4 length of 1.5 pvc into a half pipe. Then cut it to fit smoothly in the LS shell.
Posted ImagePosted Image

Attach it to the shell with e-putty and super glue.

Now take 2 LS bolts and cut down the rod to about 1/2in.
Posted Image

Attach them to the Polycarbonate, and your finished.

Ending comments

This gun is awesome. It is quite heavy, but it is distributed well.
It needs some cosmetics i.e. paintjob, but I just can't paint at all. I might need to get someone to do this...

And a video.

The ranges are about 95-105 for the Longshot with single bb stefans,
and the hornet gets about 55ft with 25 pumps.

Wow, that is very impressive. I have one question, will a third hornet tank fit in the half of pvc you have under the gun?

Reminds me of a mod I saw on ebay a long time ago where a SMDTG was mounted there.

I really like that it still functions normally as a long shot. But what I like most of all, you made it clean, I hate seeing blasters with tubes hanging out, that always looks so cheep to me. Bravo

Can't wait to see how that thing handles in a war situation (unless you're being pre-cautious about bladders in cold weather)
Well done

jerm78- Yeah I bet a third hornet tank would fit; then you could have a marvelous salvo of sorts, but it would be much harder to fit the spdtg trigger in the shell.

hummer- I built this for MANO. I probably won't use the hornet a lot, but I will definitely use the longshot.

Perhaps three would fit in the scope and the sixth in with the other two under the barrel. That would be extremely hard to tube up right but would be a bitch to fight against.

Also, you aren't gonna be able to get someone to paint it if it isn't capable of being stripped down and reconstructed. If you just supported everything from one side (like 99% of it already is) and sliced the large PVC under the barrelin half lengthwise, and maybe add epoxy supports on the PVC to keep the internals tight in there, a V2 of this mod might be re-openable.

Now that i'm out of ideas, I will now proceed to simultaneously faint and shit myself in awe of your modding skills.

angelfalcon- I just don't think I could cram all that tubing in the shell. You can paint it without stripping it down; just use hand paints. I can re-open it it just means I need to scrape off the e-putty

erich76- Good to see another guy coming to MANO, but to add to your worries I just made a stefan compatible super clip...

I hate to be the buzzkill (HA, not really), but this is clearly the least practical solution to this problem possible. You wanted (as evident by the finished product) an integration that gave you a shotgun effect. A simple integrated NF would get WAY better ranges, still be able to shotgun load, reload faster, be infinitely simpler to make, be more reliable, be cleaner, be removeable/openable if you wanted to, prime faster and so on and so forth. And that's just a NF.

This is almost exactly what I've been planning to do ever since I saw your original write-up for the CPVC breech. I've even got all of the parts made.. now to find a longshot...

Amazing work. The hornets may be getting the lower ranges because of the barrel length. I'd try either BS tanks with those barrels, or sspb tanks with little barrels.

You forgot to make it pump action.

edit: Oops, super necro. My bad. I should look more carefully before posting smart-(dumb)-ass comments in threads linked from nerfchat.
