First off, I'd like to say that anyone attempting this mod will have to do some improvising, and might want to come up with their own design altogether. I had to do many tweaks and small changes that I can't really convey in this write-up, and if you do exactly what I write up here, there's no guarantee that your gun will work. This is more to show how I did it, so you can do it better.

Let's get started.

What you'll need:
2 Switchshots
1 LSFG Handle/Trigger
1/16" Polycarbonate sheeting
1" long 1/8" thick machine screws w/nuts
Luck


Start with 2 Switchshots. All you need right now is the "gun" parts:


Open them up:


Take out the barrel/plunger assemblies and drill the fuck out of them.

They should now look like this:


Wrap some E-tape around the hole in the barrels:


Set the internals aside, and grab two opposite pieces of the shell of the two guns. Mark them here:

Drill holes where you marked with a bit that is slightly larger than the screws you are using:



Take one of your machine screws, and cut it down to 1/2" in length:

And bolt the two shell pieces together:

If you cut the screw short enough, it should not interfere with the plunger tubes.
Now take that new double-shell piece and cut two notches with your dremel, near where the plunger rods come out:


Take the remaining two shell pieces and mark them at 2" and 3" from the back of the gun. Then drill holes at the marks, 1/4" (or more if needed) away from the edge of the shell:



Mark a 2" by 2 1/4" piece of polycarbonate, and cut it out.



Put the shell together (screwing it together is not neccessary). Take your piece of polycarbonate, and lay it over the new holes you drilled. Mark where they are, and drill where you marked.


Take the shell back apart. Insert screws into the new holes (from the inside), and secure them with a drop of hot glue:


Put the shell back together and see if the polycarb piece fits over the screws. If it doesn't, drill the holes in the polycarb a little bigger:


Now get your LSFG Handle, and cut the top part off the trigger (even with the handle's shell):


Put the handle back together. See how the back of the handle fits into the notches you cut earlier? That will help out later.

(ignore the internals being in the gun in this picture)

Take your double-shell piece, and drill two holes here:


Mark and cut a 1" by 1 1/2" piece of polycarb. Match it to those two new holes, and mark it.


Also make a larger mark about 3/4" below those two marks. Drill the two small marks, and drill the larger mark with a larger drill bit. I used a 5/16" bit. This will make sense in the next step.

DO NOT POST YET. Please wait for part 3.

Put screws in the two new holes in the shell, and secure them with hot glue like the previous screws.


Put on the new polycarb piece, and make sure it fits. Now you can put the LSFG handle in place and see what the bigger hole was for:

It fits over the tab on the back of the LSFG handle.

Now take the handle, and drill straight through here:

Then put a screw through it, from the bottom:


Put the handle in place, and see where the hole you just drilled would be on the larger polycarb piece:

Mark it and drill it.

Put the handle in place. Now you should be able to imagine what the gun will look like when we're done.

Now it's time for the hard part - the trigger.
Open up the Wiimote-holder part of the Switchshot:

Remove the trigger:

Cut here:

Keep that little piece.
Put the Wii Blaster part back together. If you have a Wii, use this as a Wii-mote holder from now on. If you don't, throw it in your parts bin.
Repeat with the other one.

Now you should have two of these little pieces. Clean them up a little, and remove the small rails of plastic from the sides. This picture is a before and after:


now, drill two holes in each, 1/4" apart. On one of them, drill the holes 1/4" farther back than the other:

Now, cut across the two holes in each, to create slits:

Take the LSFG Handle shell and cut it up. Open up the entire top except the tabs on the back and the screw at the front:



Now take the LSFG trigger and cut it here:

Flip the piece around:

And glue it back together with some polycarb pieces for support:

Then dremel/sand it a little to make sure it fits in the LSFG shell:


Drill two holes, and cut between them, exactly like you did on the little trigger pieces, here:



Cut a 2" by 1/4" piece of polycarb, feed it through the slit in the trigger, and glue it. Remove any excess glue.



Attach the two little trigger pieces to the polycarb piece that is connected to the LSFG trigger. Do not glue them yet.

Now your trigger looks like it came right out of a Star Trek episode.

Cut two 1 1/2" by 1/4" pieces of polycarb. Attach them to the LSFG handle here:



Sorry my pictures are so blurry, I hope you can still tell what's going on.

Put the internals into the two switchshot shells. The two halves should be able to rotate around the single screw and allow you to get to the screw holes.


Take your Star Trek trigger, and place it against the double switchshot. Find out the spacing of the small trigger pieces, and glue them into place on the trigger.


Put the trigger into the LSFG handle, and put it together. You should have this:


Now it's time to assemble it. First, bolt the larger, bottom polycarb piece (the one that now has 5 holes) to the LSFG handle. Then bolt the Polycarb/LSFG handle assembly to the gun. Then bolt on the smaller, back polycarb piece. When you're done, you should have this:


At this point, you're done, but you will probably have to tweak the hell out of it to get it to work. I ended up having to sand parts, add a stronger spring to the LSFG trigger, and add a second layer to the polycarb rails I added to the LSFG handle at the end of step 4.

You may also want to sand/dremel down some of the sharp plastic bits near the handle.

It was taken with my shitty camera, but it turned out better than I expected.

You pull the trigger a little, and the left one fires. Finish the pull, and the right one fires. It works like a doubleshot - except it doesn't suck.

The trigger is a little rough, and I have to pull the trigger forward before I can fire it again. You can see me doing this in between shots in the vid.

I don't want to paint it. It needs a paint job, but I like it the way it is.

Ranges are typical of stock-ish Switchshots - around 50" flat.

Overall, I'm happy with it. Even though I have to fiddle with the trigger a little, the ROF is great, and having a sidearm with two shots will be great. This is basically a springer-splitfire.

I tried to make this write up as clear as possible. Sorry the pictures are so blurry - my camera hates close-ups.

This is fantastic! I can see why you would have to tweak it in order to get the proper results, but I'd say its well worth it. Should I ever get a hold of two switch shots I will definetly do this. Good job.

I actually really like this. If you do a barrel replacement and give it a paint job so it matches, it would be like an entirely different gun.

Also, great mod, it looks as if it would be fairly practical in a war, at least in a pistol round.

I see with the trigger how you would need to tinker.

At least that's where I assume most of your tinkering took place.

All I can say is wow. Reminds me of a Manta Ray, a Nitefinder, and a Doubleshot, all in one.

Finally, a gun that earns the right to have a name. Most named guns these days are people thinking they're cool duct-taping a Nitefinder to a stock BBBB and calling it some shitty name from Gears of War or Halo.

I've had a problem with the trigger returning after shots on many guns, too. I just added a wider spring to the trigger and it touched the outer wall of the plastic piece that holds the original trigger spring in place. All of the triggers that had that problem were fixed by that. Good luck and awesome gun, I think NH has moved on from single fire guns and onto rapid fire b-atches.

Switchshots are beasts. I'm not sure why.

Besides, it's not stock, the air restrictors are drilled out. I called it "stock-ish" because the barrel/spring are stock. The spring is good enough, and replacing it would only make it more difficult to cock both guns at once - and sidearms are more about ease of use than power. My darts are tight in stock barrels, too, so a barrel replacement is not needed. That would also account for the good ranges.

I actually did that, but it wasn't enough. I think the problem is that the first trigger travels all the way past the catch when you pull it far enough to fire the second one, and it gets stuck on the catch on the way back. It's not really a problem, though - it's really easy to just pull the trigger back out.

And you're exactly right. My darts are tight in stock barrels, so I hardly ever replace the barrels in pistols anymore. It's not needed.

Was this by chance inspired by the pistol in Batman: Face the Face? It's very reminiscent of the pistol used to commit the double headshot murders.

I see that many people have this problem with the trigger. You could use a CPVC ring, like in some crossbows, to help you return the trigger. I think split or CS(Guru Mk. III) did it with their crossbows, too.

I'm liking the recent trend of double barreled guns. First THIRSTS PAS, then Ice9's ultimate doubleshot, and now this. More darts in the air is always better.

Supposedly some people have used Grab-it Packs (http://www.grabitpack.com/) for Maverick holsters. If it can hold something that bulky, it can probably hold this.

Disclaimer: I've not used them, and $45 is a bit much for some bags. (Just saying that before someone flames the price.)

Back to the actual blaster - very nice mod - I like how you modified the trigger latch. I didn't realize they were so powerful. I may have to pick some up when they hit clearance (and I'm pretty sure they will soon.) Very good use of the LS Front Blaster handle. NIC probably has a slew of them all in our parts bins - the front blaster seems universally dissed.

I don't think that's really necessary on this gun, but it's the perfect solution to my problems with a project I'm working on now (expect a topic on that right after I post this reply)

I thought of making this over-under, but then I would have had to make them fire at the same time. I wanted a doubleshot-esque firing sequence.

A Mav holster would probably fit this pretty well.

Yep, they're inexplicably beastly.
In my experience, Switchshots seem to be a little more powerful than Nite-Finders. I have no idea why.
