I bought a hornet tonight to try this on and popped the ARs in 5min.... gonna test it on a nightfinder later tonight but I was too excited...

you need...

6in piece of 1/4in steel brake line
rat tail file or 15/32 drill bit
1/2in drill bit
Drill
hacksaw or tubing cutter (optional/maybe)

If you can get napa or someone to cut you a piece of brake line your already 3/4 of the way done

I cut a 6in piece of scrap brake line (mine was stainless) and I reamed one end out so it was as thin (and sharp) as possible.

I used a 15/32 drill bit and a rat tail file but you could do it with either...


pump the hornet 10 times, put the piece of brake line in the drill and slip it over the A/R peg, hit the trigegr and the brake line cuts a 1/4in circle around the peg. The peg falls out of the gun.



remove all 6 pegs the same way... install the 1/2in drill bit in the drill and carefully shove the drill into teh barrel till it bottoms out.. press gently and tap the trigger a nice big pile of plastic comes out and the AR is gone.... there is another plate under the AR so you don't have to be THAT careful.


IF you just wanted to remove the pegs this does it in mere seconds.

An excellent idea! I'll have to try this on my remaining Hornet tomorrow! Working at an auto shop has definite advantages, I suppose...

Slug, is there anything you don't have some sort of insight on? Anyways. Really neat idea, but I'm not sure if it will work with a NF, a lot less air output then a Hornet, or any air gun for that matter. If it does though, I'll definitely try it out for shits'n'giggles and if it works as beautifully as you describe, I'll stick with it I'm sure.

Ok, so I kinda understand the concept, but what does having to pump the hornet cut the AR?

never found my nightfinder..... but you can see it works with nearly all guns...

its pouring rain outside and my shop has no path so I dont want to walk through the mud to go get my 1/2in drill bit and drill. I did that by hand, anyone could put a handle or crank on it and do the same.... also a holesaw coudl be made from a piece of 1/2in brass and do the same with it by hand.

If you can find a way to quickly straighten tubing you can make millions....

mine isn't 100% straight.. if you have a vice, open the jaws so they are like 1-2mm larger than the tubing you are trying to straighten and just carefully bend and bend and bend till its straight enough to use in a drill....
I have straightened a lot of wire and linkages using the crack in a steel door... you can even swing the door tight to use it as a lever to help bend... (don't damage the door please and especially don't tell them you got your idea here)
If you're not using a drill just get it straight enough to fit in the nerf barrel. roll the line on the floor or table to see how straight it is and don't try to bend it too much at a time or it will collapse... Having a tubing bender would help but as long as you are only bending a few mm at a time it should be ok.
