#220050 Your Worst Nerf Related Injury

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 26 March 2009 - 09:01 PM in General Nerf

Modding: I had a buddy over and he thought it would be funny as hell to put an entire tube of superglue on my work surface and not tell me. I put my hand in it and removed almost all of the skin from my palm. Looked cool on the desk though.
Nerfing: A different buddy this time, shot me with a modded titan in the ear from about a foot away. Thank God it was just the missile and not one of the singled shots.

Interestingly enough, Firefox 3 lists butterfingers as a word to replace nerfing. (Firefox does not have nerfing in it's dictionary)

#148653 You Guys Should Take A Look

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 01 April 2008 - 05:30 PM in General Nerf

Hahahahahahahaha
As usual VACC, you deliver with something funny. Had me going for a bit there too. There was some doubt in the back of my mind that it was BS but, I just couldn't decide.

#147885 X-stream Triple Shot Mod

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 29 March 2008 - 09:24 PM in Modifications

That is some kind of awesome. How strong is the spring in there? Anything else you might be able to do to make it kick some more secondary worthy ass?

#147930 X-stream Triple Shot Mod

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 29 March 2008 - 10:00 PM in Modifications

The best way to find all this out is to open the gun and have a look see. It may be a pain in the ass to do but, can have some very pleasing results.

#154190 Wierd At2k Problem

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 01 May 2008 - 08:29 PM in General Nerf

I'm going to go with Ompa on this. Use something like plumbers goop or epoxy that will give you an airtight seal. Hot glue does nothing to give an airtight seal. So, don't use it for trying to seal tubing or air tanks.

Someone got banned for posting something just like this not more than six months ago.

Or, if you want to spend some time, go to the Homemade Directory Thats why it's here

#138995 What Is So Good About The Nightfinder?

See that link in the top left hand corner of your screen? That's a search button. It's not just there to look pretty. It contrary to popular belief, actually does do something. If you actually used this handy feature, you might have seen whats so good about it and you might also not have made this topic.

#188522 What Inspired You To Nerf...

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 09 November 2008 - 04:02 PM in General Nerf

Almost a year ago, I started a thread just like this one. The link for it is, here. I'm listing it here because there are some interesting posts from some members who are big and some who have gone on/forgotten about this place.

#133357 What Got You Started Nerfing?

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 21 December 2007 - 09:58 PM in General Nerf

What got you started in this hobby/obsession we all have? How did you happen to find this place? What about Nerfing appealed to you so much that you decided to become a member here?
I myself got started nerfing about two years ago or whenever the N-Strike Unity Power System came out. As soon as I got that for Christmas, I became obsessed with nerf. I found this wonderful place when I discovered how much an out of the box longshot sucked. I googled Nerf Modifications, and wound up here. One I read around a bit, I discovered that I wanted to become a member here. It took a bit but, I finally got approved and, here I am.

#218155 What Can I Ship With?

Depending on the location in NY, it could be cheaper to drive it there.

#130885 Web Comics

Without a doubt, Penny Arcade is my favorite.

#155621 Wayne Tech Tri-fire Blaster

They have these somewhere around me but, I'm still a little wary of getting one. On top of that, They are a little on the expensive side for me.

#138616 Titan Help

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 04 February 2008 - 06:08 PM in Modifications

Ok, so I was doing the "one pump titan" mod on my titan when I ran into a problem. When I pump it a few times, all the air leaks out. Usually the air stays in at one pump.

I'm guessing I have a leak some where along the line.

Any help here?

Considering that you did the "one pump titan mod", and you pumped it multiple times, then maybe you ruptured your tank. The air seal between the hose and where ever you connected it may need goop or some other such glue for an air tight seal. Or it maybe something with your air gauge. I never messed with mine so I'm not sure what could be wrong should the problem be there.
To find the leak if you're not sure where it is, either listen/feel for it, or take a spray bottle filled with water and spray everything until you see bubbles.

#165854 Though You Guys Might Want To See This

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 01 August 2008 - 01:58 PM in General Nerf

The Lancer is the only modded gun I've seen thats worth more than two hundred or so but that went for over a thousand. TAiLsChaser may be right. There may be some shenanigans at hand but, if he's wrong then good job to you.
You found some sucker somewhere who will pay big money to someone who has only sold two things.

#141585 The Vulcan

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 20 February 2008 - 07:41 PM in General Nerf

Heres how I think the Vulcan may fire. The motor spins the gear. The gear spinning pushes on the bottom of the plunger and creates tension in the spring. When the gap in the gear gets around to the bottom of the plunger, the gun fires. Rinse Lather Repeat. This is the way an old automatic airsoft gun fires.
Posted Image
EDIT: Direction of rotation in the picture is backwards.

#143980 The Vulcan

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 05 March 2008 - 10:43 AM in General Nerf

If the Longshot handle on the side is truly to lock in and unlock the chain, all one would have to do is: (Assuming the chain falls out the other side when all used up) pull back the handle, place new chain in box, push handle to relock chain, resume firing.
This is all assuming that the speculation is right and it normally isn't too accurate. Still, that’s how I assume reloading it will be. This would only work should you have another preloaded chain somewhere handy. If you don’t, you’re sol when you run out of ammo, and have to go pick some up and reload your chain.

#212698 The Majority Hammer

Ideas like this surface a lot around here. The admins will never do it. They and only they can and should wield the all might ban hammer. It is a decent idea but, it will never be put into action.

#135487 The Inspiration Of The Cap Dart

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 10 January 2008 - 03:59 PM in General Nerf

This whole thing sounds fun but, just strikes me as a bad idea. Imagine the welt you get from a regular dart. Now add a burn mark and all of the force of the dart being directed into the cap. What do you get? One pissed off mother.

#165244 Swashbuckler's Heaven

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 29 July 2008 - 07:07 PM in Nerf Wars

I like it. It sounds like a rather fun idea. I'll have to try it sometime. I like the idea of sword play it can be elegant down to an art form. I know I'm not the only one who enjoys the art of sword swinging as there have been quite a few sword topics and quite a few replies in them.

#167420 Super Moded Cool Looking Target Tech Mod

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 08 August 2008 - 03:59 PM in Modifications

As Jabulus said, please don't post angled ranges. They are next to if not worthless. Also, please fix your capitalization. I've been noticing a lack of that sort of thing and it's getting to be rather annoying.

#156107 Sportsman Shooting Toys Shotgun. Version 2

Funniest thing I've seen in a while. Good job destroying that piece of shit. The slo-mo was a very nice touch.

#161890 Shrapnel Grenade

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 07 July 2008 - 09:45 PM in Homemades

This is a fairly simple idea that I haven't yet seen done. I don't believe that this requires pictures. That's how painfully simple this idea is.
Enough talk. Here's the story: I accidentally cooked a batch of Stefans too long. So long, they no longer worked in my barrels. I was pissed until I had an epiphany of an idea. I plugged in my glue gun, got my scissors, and got to work.

Step1: Take your Stephan and cut it in half (Assuming you are making two inch Stefans)

Step2: Put hot glue on the tip just like in FA_24's Stephan making tutorial

Step3: Let cool and stuff in a fold-able Frisbee

Step4: Toss your newly improved barricade buster (grenade) at someone

EDIT: Shadowblade, I did this also because it frustrated me that regular Stephans were a tad too long for a grenade and you could only fit a few into every grenade. These half Stephans allow you to pack more of them in. I could have sworn that I included that in my little intro bit. I guess not. My bad.

#145681 Removing The Plunger Tube In A Ls.

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 18 March 2008 - 03:33 PM in Modifications

Heres a novel idea; I'll even break it into steps for you.
1. Unscrew all the screws in the Longshot
2. Gingerly lift off half of the body shell
3. Watch for things going flying
4. Get a firm grip on the big orange thing in the back half of the gun
5. Pull out, taking note of where everything was
6. Mod to your hearts content/brains capacity
7. Put everything back as you found it
8. Place the top half of the shell back on
9. Screw in the screws
10. Done

#153316 Remote Controlled Cars..

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 26 April 2008 - 08:47 PM in Off Topic

My friends and I put rocket engines on the light ones from Toys Are We. We let the cars accelerate, and right before the cord runs out, push the button and fire the engines. As long as the car is light enough, it will get some distance. We've even rigged some up so that they took off and flew for a few seconds before the engines run out.

#142867 Reclaiming The Titan

#154296 Real Nerf Grenade.

Thats pretty cool. If it was it bit bigger and fired stefans though, that would be a machine of pure death.

So then, you are doing the drop clip mod?

#129577 Questions That Need Answering.

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 12 November 2007 - 08:44 PM in General Nerf

I said .25 a foot just to make costs easy to figure out. On the other hand, if this is as good as I think its going to be, I would pay more.

#168082 Pvc Scout

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 11 August 2008 - 12:43 PM in Modifications

So, I found my Scout EX-3 the other day in my closet, alone, dissected, and abandoned. After pulling it from it's shallow grave, I began to work on it. My O-ring is lost however, so I have no idea what ranges are. Someone with an O-ring please do this mod and tell me how it turns out.
Alright, enough talk. Lets Rock.

Step One: After opening it, take out the plunger and catch assemblies. Then you should see a nub on the end of one of the lines of plastic where the spring normally is.(This nub is on BOTH SIDES!) Like this: Posted Image
Step Two: Sand this small nub away. Make sure you get the nub on the other side as well. When you are done, it should look like this: Posted Image
Step Three: Take a crayola marker and cut off about an inch from the tip of the writing end. Keep this. Throw the rest away. Wrap the narrowed end in a few layers of electrical tape. Like this: Posted Image
Step Four: Wrap the other end of your marker piece in a few layers of E-tape as well. Then, take your piece of marker, put a little glue of your choice on the flat end, and shove it into the end of a three inch piece of PVC pipe. It should be snug but the electrical tape should not be deforming when you push the marker in. It should look like this: Posted Image
Step Five: Take the barrel piece from the scout and apply a little glue to the inside edge. Take your PVC/marker piece and push it inside of the stock barrel. It should look like this: Posted Image
Step Six: Run a bead of hot glue around the joint. IMPORTANT: Nest your stock spring inside a Maverick spring before replacing putting everything back in place. Then wrap a layer or two of e-tape around it for security. Screw it all together and it should look like this:Posted Image

Now you're done and it should be shooting better than ever assuming I'm right. Questions, Comments, anything you want to say?

#210415 Portable War Obstacles

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 08 February 2009 - 09:36 AM in Nerf Wars

Go to hospitals and ask for boxes. Laser printers come in GIGANTIC boxes as do most medical supplies. Grocery stores will have some large boxes on hand as well if you ask nicely. Cardboard boxes are what my friends and I use.

#147903 Poltergeist Hb-x

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 29 March 2008 - 09:37 PM in Homemades

Sounds...Interesting. Post pics and ranges and such as soon as possible. I'm intreagued by your description. Although, instead of using the motor to power a wheel, why not use it to power a gear which compresses a spring. Here is a picture I made to describe how I believe the Vulcan will fire to explain it a little better. Posted Image Note: Direction of rotation is bacwards

#147947 Poltergeist Hb-x

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 29 March 2008 - 10:11 PM in Homemades

It's just an idea I had. The gear powered by the blender motor which is quite strong, compresses a spring. When the big gap in the teeth on said gear comes around, the spring uncompresses itself. Thus moving the plunger in the plunger tube. I feel like I didn't explain the idea in the picture very well.
Aside from that explination, I just feel as though that a motor with as much power as a blender motor should'nt spin a fly wheel. In general, flywheels suck.

#138610 Paintball

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 04 February 2008 - 06:00 PM in Off Topic

When I play woods ball, I use my trusty ol' 98 Custom with cyclone feed, rocket cock II, and new barrel. I'm getting a Proto SLG for speed ball. If you want a good electric gun thats cheap, either get the Proto SLG or PMR. Both under 300 bucks both good.

#135401 Paintball

Most of the time, I paintball in shorts and a tee shirt. The shots hurt but, its not like your arm is going to fall off. I wear and would advise you to wear a cup. Have you seen the movie Gridiron Gang? Remember the scene where the kid gets hit right in the boys but wasn't wearing a cup? You never think youre going to get hit there but, when you do, it hurts like you've never been hurt before.

#131301 Outtakes Of Nerf

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 02 December 2007 - 10:22 PM in General Nerf

Once when 2 of my friends were over, we were using my entire house for everyman for himself game. As I turned a corner, I found myself looking straight at the un-tipped missle of a freshly modded titan. When it hit, I thought it broke my nose. Glad it wasn't. Next round I got him back though, I shot him straight in the nuts with the same missle.

#153921 Other Hobbies Aside From Nerfing?

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 29 April 2008 - 08:42 PM in Off Topic

I play paintball and airsoft a lot during the summer, I play football, I build things whenever I can. Some ideas just get planted in my head and they don't leave until I do something to get them to make the transition from my head into the physical world. And on top of all of this, I have a girlfriend who eats up most of my time and money.
I got into this a while ago. I created a topic, here.

#212540 Noob Mav Question

Posted by Ro-Sham-Bo on 15 February 2009 - 06:37 PM in Modifications

Yes you can. Here, it was guess where, The Modification Directory! It took me maybe a minute with a relatively quick connection to dig that up for you. For the umpteenth time this has been said, search you lazy good for nothings. Being new here doesn't give you an excuse to be lazy. Yet another useless thread full of useless posts. There, rant over.
