#334238 Elite alpha trooper not catching

Posted by The Recon on 24 September 2013 - 06:59 AM in Modifications

I was modding my EAT, when the back of the breach popped off (the little rim), I glued it onto the plunger head as it wasn't sticking on the breach. Stupidly I used a warping adhesive, which dripped down and warped the ridge (the part that catches) it also warped off the rod (didn't seem to be too important). Any ideas on how to make it catch? The only idea I came up with was to swap it with a NF plunger head and add the nitefinder catch system. Help greatly appreciated.

If you're able to, just buy a new stock plunger. I believe Remedy Metal sells stock LS hardware.

Well I live in South Africa so shipping fees would be horrendous, so is there anyway to fix it?

#331934 How to convince my community to allow elite modding...

You all have very good points, so I thank you. For the moment elite blasters must stay stock (power wise only) , I must then ask which is more powerful, elite or vortex? I saw a rather lengthy article on this, but it was still undecided? (I would be considering the pyragon vs the rampage, for small to medium indoor wars)

Im away at the moment, and can't check. But I did re-lube it,and it is still the stock spring. I think there could be a problem with the PH, but can't check at the moment if it was due to scratches inside the PT, how could I remedy this problem? Thanks

#331843 How to convince my community to allow elite modding...

Whatever blasters they own. All of the Elite blasters are very simple and easy to understand. If someone owns multiple blasters, say a Firestrike and a Retaliator, you could show him how to modify the simpler blaster (Firestrike) first.

As far as the community leaders not allowing modified blasters at their wars, just host your own wars at some large area, where modified blasters have an easily seen advantage. Then people will want to modify their blasters so that they can gain the upper hand. This is where modding originated—someone modified his blaster to shoot harder so he could have an advantage. Once the others began to be demolished by this person at wars, they modified their own blasters out of necessity. It was the same way with homemades. Once one person uses a homemade, everyone else has to use them to keep up. It's all escalation. (This is a somewhat simplified explanation, but I'm sure you get the point.)

Thank you, your logic is very sound. The community is about 10 strong and me and 2 other guys essiently moderate it, I think I will stage a larger than regular scale battle for them to showcase the mods. The only problem is that we all have very different blasters so I may just have to destroy them a couple of times to convince them..... Thanks again :)

#331836 How to convince my community to allow elite modding...

I Nerf in a very small community, I am the only modded in this community. We play rather small indoor wars, and due to the lack of range required my fellow community seniors have disallowed elite modding. I believe this is because they can't mod and this would give me a rather large advantage. But they know that I will happily mod their guns for them and have come to the conclusion that it is not due to advantages but, the fact they don't understand the joy of modding. I feel if I could just teach them to mod, they would have no problem. (I do very basic mods myself) So I ask what would be a good blaster to tutorial them on? One of the main problems is that Blasters are very scare here and they are, afraid of breaking them. Basically, what would be a good blaster to tutorial them on and any other advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You are correct. It is getting a horrbile seal and the air is escaping everywhere else but where it needs too.

Well, after sealing the rim it still works horribly, Could this be due to scratches in the PT? It was a very.... Ghetto attempt. Any help greatly appreciated

I am a Nerfer from RSA, and apart from the minuscule community that I nerf with, are there any others here? I have searched the war forums and find nothing. Please if you are lurking out there like me, Respond.

Hi i recently got a longshot and due to little knowledge of LS internals i damaged the rim and part of the larger tube for the disassembled and reassembled smaller tube to fit.... , I don't have a camera but hopefully you should know what i mean, It will only fire about 10 feet (hek its second hand and only fired about 20 when i got it) this may sound stupid but is the damaged larger tube messing up the seal and thats why it doesn't shoot properly?

#330653 Need good primary for fire fights

Posted by The Recon on 08 June 2013 - 05:03 AM in General Nerf

I live in a country where we have a rather lack of a nerf choices, I am soon going to Europe and will buy a assortment of elite guns, the main problem with my current arsenal is i lack a fast firing primary, as I have a limited budget and am already picking up the alpha trooper is it necessary to forgo the rampage and buy the swarmfire? My main problem is im not sure the SF is worth the 50 Euro price? As this is my first post any advice, criticism etc. is welcomed.

Please do not see this as a which gun is best thread
