Oh I already did most of that. All the cuts are done, but I'm all out of titan tanks.
Edit: Spelling fixes.

#361390 Stampede Repairs

Posted by Silly on 23 August 2017 - 06:39 PM in General Nerf

Either your problem is you have a stripped gear, or the motor is broken for some unknown reason.

First thing you should do is open the gearbox and see if ANY of the gears have missing teeth. If they are, then you need replacement gears, not a new motor.

If the gears are all ok, and you are SURE that its the motor, then airsoft pusher motors are what I see people using sometimes. They will cost you 39-70 USD though.

You twist it on with pliers and a bench vice.

#359442 I recently got a supersoaker dartfire, any suggestions for this thing?

Posted by Silly on 25 April 2017 - 12:16 PM in Modifications

Watch Walcom's teardown of it. It doesnt really have alot of space inside if you want to keep the dart firing mech.

#364686 Project 13: Brushless machine pistol

Posted by Silly on 09 March 2022 - 02:27 PM in Homemades

Fantastic stuff as usual. Firing demo?

This looks like such a fun little dart hose.

Its not often that I see steppers used in flywheelers anymore. The last time I can think of was the FDL 2.

#364634 Clarification of differences between Hoppers, RSCBs, Choppers, and BRI

Posted by Silly on 17 May 2021 - 08:35 PM in Homemades

I am currently starting work on a few semi-basic wiki pages about dart feed systems, and am having trouble understanding the differences and timelines of the Hopper, RSCB, Chopper, and BRISC.

  • When was each system invented?
  • Who invented each system?
  • When did each system actually see widespread use? When did it begin to drop off?
  • Differences between each system?
  • What other versions of feed systems were there other than the 4 listed?
  • What kinds of incremental improvements were made to each system over time? By who?
  • etc, etc, etc.

Any and all info about these systems would be greatly appreciated. I figured NH would be the best place to ask in order to get proper information instead of pure speculation on rNerf or on the various Discords.

Thank you very much for the clarifications! It has certainly been hard to find the 'earliest' examples of each system, glad I thought to ask here.

#363851 The History of Nerf Modding archival project

Posted by Silly on 04 May 2019 - 08:26 PM in General Nerf

Hello!

I am Silly, and I am one of the staff on the History of Nerf Modding team.

We are building an archive (initially on discord, then uploading to Google drive periodically, with a website possibly coming in the future), and then turning portions of that into in-depth history and information videos.

This is inclusive of tracking major games, game types, and other modding adjacent activities of the community.

We are especially looking for long time Nerfers who were participating in the Nerf scene any time from 1989 to 2012, which is why I am posing here on Nerf Haven. Any small thing will help to paint a larger picture, so even if you have a faint memory, please write it down and send it to us!

We will have questions and need for photos and videos over the next few months, so if you want to be a contact we can reach out to, let me know in a reply to this post, or by telling us on our Discord.

Speaking of Discord, here is a link to our Discord. https://discord.gg/zt5uBsR Join in, if you’d like!

Thank you for reading and helping out!

#361628 Stampede drill motor Questions

Posted by Silly on 20 September 2017 - 10:50 AM in Modifications

Hello again NH,

Recently, I found a nice old drill in goodwill without a handle, so I bought it for the motor. It is a motor from a craftsman 12v drill. My thoughts immediately went to cramming the fudger into a stampede. Sure, it would look like the stampede had a tumor, but it would fire faster/harder then the normal motor.

So I did some research to find specs on the motor. I couldn't find the drill online, the motor specs, or any information other then a sold out battery supposedly for the drill on sears.com. So.

I looked at stampede replacement motors. I found this thread/post on the Nerf sub Reddit ( https://www.reddit.c...KUN&sh=0d4c2375) and I have in the past made a NH topic on stampede replacement motors.

But I found no documentation of anyone using a drill motor in a stampede. So that's what I'm asking about here. Does anyone know or suspect any major problems (other then reinforcement and gearbox stuff) with this project? Would a 12v drill motor be able to meet the stampede's requirements for function?

Thanks,
Silly

Edit: This post will also be posted on Reddit for more people to be able to answer.

Here is a picture of the internals: https://imgur.com/JIB47pK

Reddit post where it came from: https://www.reddit.c...nyways_guys_im/

Someone who has put one together, maybe PM them on Reddit? https://www.reddit.c...l_but_i_did_it/

The Revonix is known to have horrid internals that are quite hard to put back together, so it may be worth while to PM u/Kirk_Stargazed on Reddit.

#361586 Rapidstrike Modding Help (Complete Noob)

Posted by Silly on 14 September 2017 - 12:09 PM in Modifications

In the Make Test Battle Ultimate Rapidstrike video ( above ) they show you how to make a decent rapidstrike. The parts that they used are in the description of their video.
People like you starting out usually start with less powerful flywheelers as their first blasters, but as you said, you already have experience with electronics and such, so I hope that the video is at your level of difficulty.

Good luck!

#356834 Snikkas fearless fire cage?

Posted by Silly on 23 November 2016 - 04:03 PM in Modifications

Hey, I was looking through the forums for fearless fire mods, and I saw that snikkas made flywheel cages for the rebelle fearless fire. I have looked for some time though, and I can't find them. Are they discontinued? If not, can someone post a link to the store/listing?

#356601 Clipaziene Breach (Advice Appreciated.)

Posted by Silly on 03 November 2016 - 12:16 PM in Darts and Barrels

So, i was in writing class drawing ideas up from the dephs of my brain when i thought "what if i took a raider mag well and slapped a breach on it?" And then it began. I was thinking a simple breach with magic pvc, but with a wider opening to accept the mag, and also some nerf breach shaped pvc as the barrel material to make the darts feed correctly. Prototype coming soon-ish. Any advice is appreciated!

Agreed. The days where you could go out and buy a at3k at the store, the time when vintage blasters weren't vintage.

#358883 Thought about K'nex Blasters

Posted by Silly on 29 March 2017 - 12:10 PM in Modifications

I actually already did this! I put the springer 5shot on a longshot, but one problem: Literally all the plastic for it warped when i used superglue. I think it was because the plungertube had DIRECT contact with the superglue.

Edit: Just wanted to note that i ripped it off with pliers afterwards and threw it in the bin.

So far i have taken the mag well from a goodwill raider that im going to put a shotblast tank into. I have also started forming the cpvc to take in the darts.

#364148 Nerf Collections -hobbydb

Posted by Silly on 27 August 2019 - 11:40 AM in General Nerf

The History of Nerf Modding/Nerf Archive could use a few collection photos. It isn't as much a place to show it off as much as a place to catalog each blaster.

#364668 Where is the best place to sell my nerf collection?

Posted by Silly on 12 October 2021 - 02:28 PM in General Nerf

The trading bit of NH shut down a long while ago, you could try r/NerfExchange on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NerfExchange/

Some of the Discord servers I'm on also have trading/sell channels.

#358769 1995 Crossbow TEASER PHOTO

Posted by Silly on 24 March 2017 - 05:04 PM in Modifications

So, this project has been in the works for about a year now, planning, getting parts, asking questions, and reading up on NH.

The plan is to cut out the gray grip of the Crossbow, cram the XBZ into the space, put a Raider priming grip on the front, and enjoy. (The pump will connect through the "scope" of the Crossbow.)

Then I will take a part of a Sledgefire stock and paste it onto the Crossbow stock, then slap some ammo holders on the side of the Crossbow. I plan to get a breach from someone for the XBZ and a second one for the Crossbow.

The Crossbow's internals are not built yet, so that is next up on the chopping block. I have the plunger tube material and the plunger head all chosen, but I still need to work on making a catch. This Crossbow came with no internals but the trigger and the plunger tube, so if anyone has a template for making a catch, a link would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thats all!

Silly, signing out.

#364452 NerfHaven logo font?

Posted by Silly on 09 February 2020 - 08:27 PM in Site Feedback

I was wondering, what is the font used for the NH logo? I presume it is a font and not custom made, as the 2015 mod contest had a custom "banner" in the same font.

Edit: For those who are googling and this comes up, the font is Arcade, italic to make the logo slant.
