#85561 Co2 Powered Gun

Posted by Viper on 23 July 2006 - 05:00 PM in Homemades

Co2 is overkill in the nerf arena. I tried several concepts, they all worked, although suffered from breaking the darts in half and many times sending the weight of the dart into my drywall. I wouldn't reccomend co2 for nerf use as its a dirty and inconsistant power supply. It will make the darts fly, but I could just hook up my air compressor to shoot a nerf dart 400 feet if I wanted to.

#62617 The Ubs (universal Barrel System)

Posted by Viper on 27 August 2005 - 09:19 PM in Modifications

Wow that's quite original, having a multi-diameter barrel system that can be mass produced. I'm looking forward to future right-ups.

#62666 The Ubs (universal Barrel System)

Posted by Viper on 28 August 2005 - 05:14 PM in Modifications

99 cents per foot isn't that expensive. If you buy 10 feet of my PETG that's enough for 10 or 20 barrels. The Brass is 3-4x as expensive, but you don't need that much.

#42723 Nerf Semi-automatc Pistol

Posted by Viper on 27 November 2004 - 10:05 PM in General Nerf

The best way is to use either a spring at bottom clip or a gravity-fed clip with a breech like ompa stated. The breach secured each round from interacting with one another while gravity or the spring advances the next round automatically, without any source of power. It is essentially "free" energy. That's the only really practical nerf-type clip that hasbro hasn't already tried. What you must realize is these machine guns and semi-auto pistols/ shotguns use the gas from projectile launching to advance to the next round, just as the neft powerclip uses air to advance to the next point in the clip.

#49108 If You Could Ask Hasrbo

Posted by Viper on 09 March 2005 - 03:19 PM in General Nerf

A chain fed gun would be cool. Ask the question I asked on Nerfhq, exactly what is the process to choose what guns are being designed and released, like is it artists that start the trend, or is it the engineers?

#48827 If You Could Ask Hasrbo

Posted by Viper on 05 March 2005 - 10:23 PM in General Nerf

I would ask what the design process entails, whether it is usually outsourced to Johnson research etc. most of the time or if the nerf team does most of the work. I would also ask what a nerf design team consists of besides the mechanical engineers involved and which part of the team decides which direction to move in. How do they make their prototypes, whether it be through PVC and plexiglass like Lonnie did and we do or whether is be CAD design that is translated into moving parts,(there's a cool site that does that for $200). I know there are prototypes built with $40,000 printers that are 3-d . Hasbro has rereleased a great deal of nerf toys, mostly the simplistic designs like bow n arrow and double crossbow on many occasions.

#60736 Firefly Out Online

Posted by Viper on 31 July 2005 - 07:20 PM in General Nerf

9/16" high quality PETG is more than 3x cheaper than brass, lighter and easier to work with, and now it can maintain the darts glowing properties? :P

Hasbro, Mattel, Larami, buzz bee, johnson research etc. would all be adequate search queries. Try inventor names like Lonnie Johnson and others that you see.

Who is ATB?

#40415 Powerclip Homemade Clip

Posted by Viper on 31 October 2004 - 07:07 PM in Homemades

Even with a powerclip re-release you're still gonna have to cough up $25 a gun.

#40453 Powerclip Homemade Clip

Posted by Viper on 01 November 2004 - 10:38 AM in Homemades

i could prob get 3.5 feet of PETG.

It has to be possible w/ the know n materials.

#39608 Powerclip Homemade Clip

I actually haven't even begun this quest to make homemade clips but was curious if anyone else has tried making clips for the powerclip.

#47142 Stefan Darts

I use 2 bb's or bb size fishing weights. 1/4 steel shot sounds intruging, but a little heavy. Isn't ther something like size 3/0 fishing weights that works really well.

#40498 Halo 2

Posted by Viper on 01 November 2004 - 06:54 PM in Off Topic

In most its even better than that. You can now destroy objects and it has a lighting engine superior to splinter cell, or in fact any game out yet.

#40410 Halo 2

Posted by Viper on 31 October 2004 - 06:35 PM in Off Topic

Ya its the french version. My buddy has almost beat in on easy. He has a friend who knows a little about encryption and can make an actual xbox game on his comp and burn it without any mod chip. You have a lot less health and the game is soooooo much more balanced. The strategy involved is complex instead of a 1v1v1v1 w/ a pistol dominating the game. You can take out power stations to bring down bae defenses, simply it is the best game ever.

#40367 Halo 2

Any of you guys work at Mcdonald's? I steal those little best buy bucks off the fries and chicken strip boxes and throw the boxes away. Just run back in the storage room when you aren't busy and pick a couple up.

#50370 Strongholds Of Nerf

Michigan is gaining in that area. How about Indiana? That gave us yakman, nerfking,snaped,and......me? I love your analysis on these matters shindig, you express yourself really well and make this site very enjoyable even whenever there are no major developments.

#61884 Nerf Arena

Posted by Viper on 13 August 2005 - 06:37 PM in Nerf Wars

If you want to make it make money you'd better include kids in the plan somewhere. In fact, I'd try to put one by a chuck e cheese's or McDonalds. Those vests that sense pressure could be manipulated by simply pressing on it with your hand. I'd just go low-tech and give kids, adults etc. a chance to have fun with nerf toys.

#53009 Good News, Bad News

Posted by Viper on 20 April 2005 - 05:46 PM in General Nerf

I'm semi-disapointed, I mean a $10 maxshot is a far better deal. Its not like it was the rerelease of the double crossbow, but come on! I'd rather have a PC or rapidfire 20. s for durability, the BBB is about as good as any. You can feel it vibrate in your hands when you fire and the trigger is a bitch, but its really not that bad long term.

#46398 My Contribution To The The Sm750

Posted by Viper on 22 January 2005 - 09:39 PM in Modifications

That sound like it seals well too. A very practical mod in a 4shot pistol that gets 85 feet flat and is very small and holsterable.

Team America World Police is a good movie for all you right-wingers. If you want to see something original, albeit different watch The Woodsman.

Has anyone seen the original scarface? It has good reviews, but people could be justifying it as good because of the time it was made.

#48021 All Purpose Movie Topic

Wow, I really thought platoon sucked ass. It was a candid account about what oliver stone went through I guess. Office Space, I've seen that about 30+ times....really and its great. American Beauty is very similiar in plot structure and theme. Right now I'm watching A Clockwork Orange

#49664 All Purpose Movie Topic

Posted by Viper on 15 March 2005 - 01:22 PM in Off Topic

I watched LA confidential the other day for the first time. It was good, but I wouldn't rate it as a top 30 movie like it is on imdb. I watched the beginning of motorcyle diaries and left fairly impressed.

shaw-shank was a killer. I'll check out Cool Hand Luke. Adaptation? It was alright I guess.

I was wondering what you guys thought of the movies that just came out or classics you've seen that you've enjoyed. I have a 130" projection HDTV from sony with surround sound and was looking at checking out some more great movies. Is the THE AVIATOR any good?

#47972 All Purpose Movie Topic

Posted by Viper on 24 February 2005 - 09:49 PM in Off Topic

I haven't measured it but I do know my house is 7,200 square feet and there seems to be plenty of room, I got to give it to my stepdad on that one, we got a wet bar with an oven behind it......envious yet? Good movies I must say cxwq, I might check out The mission simpky because I haven't heard anything about it...ever.

#47840 All Purpose Movie Topic

Posted by Viper on 23 February 2005 - 02:32 PM in Off Topic

I'm not a big garden state fan, nor a XXX fan. NEVER RECCOMEND XXX to anyone, its a classic worst movie of all time. Gone in 60 seconds rules, so do unpopular movies like The Pianist etc. I watched breakfast club last night and that is defineately a classic and I'm about to watch American Beuty all the way through. I heard american graffiti was sick and so are most of the star wars films. Episode 1 and 2 were actually pretty good, if not for the main characters acting abilities.

#48215 All Purpose Movie Topic

Posted by Viper on 27 February 2005 - 08:36 PM in Off Topic

Judge Dred was pretty cool. Demolition man was the shit, though, blowing dred away. I just got done watching all of A Clockwork Orange and honestly, didn't find anything too great about it. It was another shocking movie that had poor acting and dialogue in many parts and was simply not that entertaining.Citizen Kane is next on my list.

#48521 All Purpose Movie Topic

Posted by Viper on 02 March 2005 - 10:21 PM in Off Topic

I just got finshed with citizen kane, considered by many to be the best movie ever made. It was very good, but I'm not thinking top 10 unless you consider for its time. "rosebud"

Have you guys heard anything about the aviator?

Gladiator was great all around. The matrix trilogy was all pretty great to me.

#45429 Maverick Internals

49 feet flat is pretty damn good. Angled that means 80+ feet. People stated the modded scout got 50 feet flat....er..angled maybe and the spring looks larger. An unmodded Nightfinder gets 62 feet max angled, about 35-40 flat.

#41282 X-bows

Posted by Viper on 09 November 2004 - 10:59 PM in General Nerf

So where can you find the toy liquidater locations online? Many of you act like its a bad thing that they are going down in value, by probably not a whole lot. I think its great for the nerf community.

#41624 X-bows

Posted by Viper on 14 November 2004 - 01:57 PM in General Nerf

$38.99 per gun is still too expensive, ebay aficionado's, I'd try more like $25 per gun prices, you'd probably finish them off a lot quicker before the other 100-1000 crossbows hit the market.

#41330 X-bows
