There's been a recent flood of Nerf x-bows lately. They've been coming from Toy Liquidators. I have numerous accounts of people finding a bunch of x-bows at thier Toy Liquidators. So, check your Toy Liquidators and please report here with your results.

--Diego

It's usually a large store or warehouse that gathers all over/unsold stock from toy stores, and offers to get rid of them for them. This will usually mean low prices, and many items in stock. They want to make a quick buck by selling in bulk what other stores couldn't sell. It's like a giant garage sale, but they need to empty out quickly so they can have their space back. Whatever isn't sold is usually destroyed or thrown away.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

Man wouldn't that suck if they destroyed all those X-bows? I'd be sick...

Well dont worry, i dont any Nerf gun would EVER be destroyed.

Nerf guns are usually a good product because its so easy to re-sell them. Old guns usually aren't outdated and out-of-style.

toy liquidator: as described by Black Wrath

Toy Liquidators: as described by NSF

Toy Liquidators (note the caps) is the old name for KB Toy Outlet which is the closeout division of KB.

Now, the 6 million dollar question. Were the xbows found at a toy liquidator or a Toy Liquidators? I have three KB Toy Outlet locations within a 30 minute drive of my house.

No don’t get me wrong or anything, I would love to own an x-bow. But do you not think this is a little weird how all these x-bows are released now. Also won’t the value of x-bows also go down now that this lady is releasing about 30 of them? I just think that this…Re-Release of x-bow is killing the product value of nerf. How such a prized one of a kind, everyone wants one gun is now just becoming a wow gun. Now I understand how this gun is still cherished in the nerf community, but… the x-bow…it’s just hard to see.

I just found 8 more- in addition to the three I first found at a toy liquidator- I'd sell some of them- glad to help out the NIC.

100 dollars ;) . Just kidding- make me an offer.

No wonder X-Bows were so rare...

Airsoft - should I PM you, or what? Seems odd posting that deals for buying x-bows over the boards. My AIM and MSN SN is TimberwolfCY, in case you want to talk over IM. Thanks.

How do you find out where the Toy Liquidators locations are? I looked around the site but I can't figure it out. Maybe it's just me...

The value of X-bows will certainly go down. In fact, they have. In the few days that buy it now has been up, she has sold a grand whopping total of only 10 crossbows. Just a couple of years ago, virgin, USED crossbows went for upwards of 50. Now that we have pristine crossbows that are new in box, they have devaulued themselves something awful.

What's this mean? As an investment, crossbows are shit compared to, say, firestorms. Upside is, expect loads of practical mods popping up, the Crossbow has always been a tad slow compared to the rapid evolutions in modding found in guns like the AT2k and the SM1500.

Another upside is that they may actually bring revenue to us through our skills. With so many crossbows available, we could effectively buy a few up at 30 bucks a pop, mod the hell out of them, and sell them back to less experienced modders for 60 bucks or so.

I remember when I broke the record for stupidest buys ever, paying $140.00 for a used, poorly modded X-bow that later became Mickey. Wasn't that bad of a crossbow, but I was way too new to responsibly own a crossbow, as a result I ended up having to fabricate and reinforce parts something awful later. Again, experienced modders can benefit from newbies by selling very sturdy, already reinforced x-bows.

I'll browse around and see if I can dig up anything else online.

EDIT: Yup, another auction popped up on e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/...item=5933104773

So this is definitely happening across the country. So I strongly advise selling any rare guns you have stocked up for a rainy day rather soon, simply for the sake of the market being flooded with the crossbow and new production guns that beat the snot out of most all previous models.

I like how the X-bow price has gone far enough down to afford (kinda). The price WILL go up after the lady runs outa them. And even if they don't go up....more for us. ;) :D :D (and MAYBE others) -_-

I just got 4 of 'em and just payed her so I'm excited to get them. I have been WAITING AND WAITING to get an X-bow and now, now I FINALLY get 4!!!!

That was so not cool. losing Cx's auction, which he posted about, saying that he would not tolerate spniping and asked for a fair bidding race, is not the best way to go about things.

I never liked you, but this is kinda low. Auction losing is retarded.

Learn how to type properly, too.

Actually you win with the highest bid. Llesson learned, they call it a maximum for a reason, not the price you would like to pay. That's why I strongly recomend my method of putting down a maximum, and walking away until the auction is over. No demoralizing losing.

Maybe I am reading too much into the Steve-ness (Tao of Steve reference) of e-bay bidding.

Don't get me wrong, X-bows always get the finest materials integrated into their mods and do have a wide variety of mods because the "pros" (professional nerf gun tinkerers?) prefer them. However, I was just making a comparison to the previously prolific 1500. There were so many of them, we could do wild experiments with them and as a result, built a huge database of mods for the 1500. Outside of integrations, crossbow mods remain mechanically the same with exception to the materials used. Example: Compare the 5000 tank relocation to the barrel relocation on the crossbow, much more sophisticated.

Then again, what can you do with a spring gun? (Yesss.... yesss.... what can you do with a spring gun, make them think that's a legitimate question....)

Well I successfully disagreed with I think everybody, ass-paddles are 3.99 an hour with an initial fee of 4.99, pay in advance and have a nice day/beating!

Okay I partly agree with you Lemmy, but why can't you put in your maximum bid at the very end of the auction?

It is sort of low to do that. The only way I would eat shit out an auction is if somebody tried to do it to me, and since the act was allready committed, I really wouldn't feel like I was losing it out.

Curious, that you say this in the earlier thread;

Oh, man. thats alot of money. ^_^  No one better out bid him...he can ban people. ;)  :D

...and then eat shit him (submitting your "highest bid" with 28 seconds before auction closing).

I don't think that cxwq will stoop to that level to ban you, but a custom title like .:Blue Ice:. has may not be out of the question.

Oh, and enjoy your crossbows. I'll be watching eBay to see if you resell them. Even if you do under another username.

Sincerely,

Oh, I don't know about that.

If he doesn't think I should have a few reasonably priced xbows so that I can put a new mod up on the site, perhaps I don't think he should have free access to my hard work.

Nah... I haven't been my old vengeful self since hanging up my NHQ hat last week. Sometimes it's so refreshing to delete oneself.

A custom title is not out of the question though.
