Idea:
Maybe it's the fact that the spring doesn't look cut-down at all. Also, the combo of the glue and use of e-tape to get a perfect seal could have something to do with it.
Here's my question: Was your stock dart rammed into the barrel, or just sitting in up to the suction cup? If it was all the way in, then I'm calling this confirmed- the rubber would make massive air resistance, causing the pressure to build up to insane levels behind the dart before it takes off.
Also, it gets HOT in CO Springs if I'm not mistaken, and as we all know, the hotter it is, the further the ranges generally go.
The spring is not cut at all. I push the dart down the barrel with my pinky finger as far as it can go. It takes a bit of force because the e-tape around the rubber suction tip makes for a very tight fit.
It does get kinda hot, but I think the dart may fly farther because the air is thinner at this altitude. I am over a mile above sea level.
