Last night, around 1ish, I was getting ready to shut the laptop down for the first time in ages. As I was closing things, a window popped up and I accidentally hit uninstall, presumably on the window asking to uninstall the cd rom drive. At that time, I was still able to open and close the cd rom, but the laptop would not read it. When I tried to restart and go into the bios, which were no help anyway, the computer then would refuse to open the cd rom drive, as if there were no power going through it. I tried to go to add / remove hardware, and scanned for the new hardware to reinstall my cd drive, but it found nothing, and I am stuck with a cd / dvd rom drive-less computer. Please help!
