Basically the owner of our internet radio server (for gaia online, kind of a gay little rpg site that I don't really post on, I just like playing music.) is switching listener venues. I'm hoping to get a time slot for the final night so I can dj as well as the other guy that is on currently. We need 20+ listeners tonight for him to change his mind, and allow me, as well as several other of the dj's to keep on broadcasting.
If you like music, listen in. If you like me, listen in. If you don't like music, click the link and turn the volume down on your music player so you don't have to hear it. Please. Save teh radioz.

Hard Drive Install
27 March 2005 - 08:29 PM
Well my old computor died last year, and I decided to make it live again. (note easter reference and move on) Me and my brother decided to work on it by replacing the hard drive (video card was already replaced).
Heres what my bro told me:
The type of mother board and hard drive connections that are in that computer are the old IDE type which involves a 40 pin connection. The hard drive we bought is very new and uses a new technology and is called SATA....sata does not plug into ide.It has a 7 pin data connector, and both use a 4 pin power thing.
What do we need ?
Is installing a new motherboard that hard ?
Would it make more sense just to get this: http://www.newegg.co...-144-102&depa=1
Will this "bolt" right up ?

Catapult

Well, Dave knows well that I got real freaking bored the last few nights. I had talked about building a catapult, and I did. And its freakin' awxsome.
Well, heres the general overview of the catapult. I used a triangular base design for stability, and strength.

Now this puppy is what drives it. Its around 45 assorted rubber bands wound together to form a ginormous band that has more resistance than a bungee cord.

This is the catch mech. Its basically just two posts that the pivot arm lowers down into and is held in place with a nail. As soon as you pull that pin, that arm goes flying up. I have a few bruises on my hand from this sob hitting me accidentally.
In the first picture, you can see the arms supporting the stop bar. I have several lengths of stop bar to allow easy ajustment of height and distance.

When I first got this shell, I knew that I was going to have some work cut out for me. Little did I know just how much work it was gonna be.

You can see here the ginourmous freakin hole in the shell.
I intended to use a tornado handgrip, and some bondo and plexie later, we have this.

Its still a work in progress, so I'll update every so often.
