Brass Vs. Other Barrels

03 August 2004 - 05:23 PM

Are brass barrel mods taking the fun out of nerf? I heard some opinions on this in the thread about Apoc, and I like to hear what more people think about brass barrels, and why their opinion is what it is.

I for one think that brass isn't really worth the expense (sp?) unless you're putting it on some amazing loser rifle like the sm5k, but I have to ship it from Chicago to MA, so that may just be me. I also don't think that it's nessacary to have it on every weapon, because most shots aren't happening from much more than 20-40 feet away, and those ranges are definatley reachable on just about every gun with much ceaper and more acessible cpvc. I also think that cpvc is a much easier material to work with.

That's my opinion, but I'd like to hear what the NIC thinks.

Water Bottle Stock

20 May 2004 - 03:18 PM

I found a way to make a stock for a Max shot out of a water bottle. It helps improve the gun's accuracy, and I think it's easier to shoot with it than without it. It's really pretty simple to make. All you need is a water bottle, cardboard, some dowel, and glue. here are the steps.

1. Cut the top off the bottle so it is flat. Cut out a rectangle to allow the cocking handle to work.

2.Cut out a bunch of circles of carboard and fill the water bottle with them up to the end of the rectangle you cut for the cocking handle.

3.Cut some peices of dowel that will go from the cardoard to the end of the water bottle. Hot glue or tape them into the bottle.

4.Tape or glue your stock onto the back end of the Max Shot.

And now you've got a water bottle stock on your maxshot. Experiment with bottles and see what works best for you
