It does both. Down south we have to clothes-dryer our foam so that it will fit in the PVC. Once the technique is attained it makes for superior darts. I consider the straightening to be the icing on the cake.

I think I'm doing the rounds again this year, but it won't be until January or February.

Depending on where the break is you may be able to put metal rods in the grooves on the sides of the plunger rod to hold it together.
