Pretty cool skull. Personally, I don't think you should have covered it in Polyeurethane. (or however you spell that) I think it would have been cooler to just put a coat of varnish or something on it. But, you do want it to last as long as possible.



Well, the polyeurethane leaves no color or shine, it simply reinforces the bone and keeps the teeth and looser parts from falling off. This is meant to be more tribal and dirty looking, not shiny and clean. Speaking of dirty, my friend and I decided that since I am dressing up as a witch doctor, and since most of the real witch doctors weren't pasty white boys, I'm going to be covered in dirt and muck, just to give it that authentic effect.

Well, the plan is to wear it to our local Medieval Fair, as a witch doctor or something. My friend, the same one who was with me when I found the skull, is working on bargainind with a man his mother works for to get me a bearskin, which, if it's large enough, will be promptly made into a rough kilt. I'll be getting some deerhide from what I do to make money in the winter, so that will put more into the costume. I'm trying to work on a head-dress at the moment, and thinking along the lines of a lot of feathers and such.
