Hello all.  It has been an age.  I randomly remembered this site existed?  Exists?  And sorted by today's active topics... and got nothing.  So I kept widening the range, and this was the most recent thread.  I wouldn't say I was from the 2000's era, but the 2010s, yes.  I saw an old nerf post pop up in my FB feed today about the Nerf Balzooka, so maybe that prompted me.  I haven't built anything Nerf related in a long time, but I still build things.  I play discgolf these days, and I built some garage shelving related to that.  This hobby (nerf, specifically modding and the internet community around that) helped me learn and develop some of those DIY skills, so I'm grateful for that.  I actually have a friend in the discgolf scene who I met back in local nerf wars, and he coincidentally also got into discgolf, so we reconnected there.  So that's another bit of fun.  I remember the BritNerf Ohio Revolution (I think that was the name?) fondly, and buying some PVC wyes off one of the major members of this site to use for making hopper clips (that i still have, incidentally).  Might have been Ryan, who I was sad to learn had passed.

Hopefully this rambling doesn't run afoul of the mods, who I still remember with some fondness being real powertripping rules sticklers, hahaha.  Hey, I'll give you this: the authoritarianism of the site did cement a lifelong attention to spelling and grammar into my internet interactions, so that's good, I think?  Other than maybe people thinking it means my posts are AI now.  Man, the world looks so different these days.  I miss a decade and a half ago, or at least aspects of it.

 

May this digital message in a bottle find you well, internet nerfer browsing the graveyards of yester-decade's posts, when it's seen long after posting.  And hey, if you want to find a similar collection of oddballs that the NIC had, maybe try your local discgolf community.  We're still out there, and still misfits, together.

May also be used by someone warning a new member about a policy they don't necessarily agree with so they can clean up their act before us mean old admins can get to them. Either way, it's used almost exclusively by people who are misrepresenting the moderators/admins/policies of NH.

To be fair though, in ye olden days of harshness with the old regime, new members would have to be quickly warned by other members, because for a good while there was pretty close to a 1 strike policy. I distinctly reclaim warning several people myself, usually about posting without a picture in the pictures thread, although it was pretty much 50/50 whether they'd see my message before the mods saw their post.

Granted, I'd almost always do this via PM, rather than a post, so the filter thing was irrelevant.

Cleanly done, and so obvious yet brilliant. Very nice. Every war host should have a couple of these with them to test blasters with.

WELL, HECK, I've only been to like 1 other war since the last Revolution, and I haven't done much in nerf recently, but I've gotta find a way to get to this if I can. Also, I'd be coming +2, with my brothers, who are 16 year old, and one of them wielding this blaster made by me:



The other I'll either have to whip something up for, or he'll be using the hopper'd PAS I used at the first Ohio Rev.

Boldface is around 25 minutes away from me, so that would have my vote, but Mt Echo would be do-able as well.

Oh, and any rulings on dart/weight restrictions? I've been using #6 washer slugs, though I might also go for #6 washer glue domes (have some made already, would have to start slugs from scratch), if they're allowed.

Anyways, it's been down for quite some time, maybe a month or so now? Activity there had almost completely died, and anytime I suggested that it might be more worthwhile to just move the important info over here to NH and close down (to consolidate users, and hopefully drive more activity) I was met with vehement disagreement. Well, it seems as though now Vincent or whoever was running it has just stopped. Kinda sucks that we've lost the resources which weren't cross-posted.
