In Topic: Favorite Longshot Mod?

I have two favorite Longshot mods. I couldn't choose, so I will post them both. One of them is throwing the Longshot in the garbage and using a different gun, and the other is filling the plunger tube with skeet fluid to make it shoot a million feet.

Seriously? Not only is this unhelpful, it's actually rather offensive.

In Topic: Problems w/ Aftermarket Spring

You are likely experiencing a little kickback, common with TTGs and powerful springer pistols. The shear power of the spring is jerking the blaster back in your hand a tad (angling it slightly) thus resulting in a higher shot.

Or your darts are inconsistent...

I can handle the recoil on a 45. I don't think a Nitefinder ought to be a problem. xD

If my darts were inconsistent, then they would fly all over the place. These are only veering upward.

I'm thinking it has to be the barrel. I had to sand it a bit for my felt-tipped tips to go through smoothly. Maybe I did the top lip too much?

And for the record, 2 inches works fine with the stock spring. I get 50-60 feet consistently with an RSCB clip installed.

The Orange Mod Works AT Mod Guide (free e-book) has instructions on how to brass breach the blaster as well

Thanks. I found the guide.

just sand down 2-3 inches of the inside of the plunger tube and put a segment of brass as however loong you sanded out the pluger tube

The plunger tube? Wouldn't that block the clip feed?

And again... I am asking for dimensions because I do not have physical access to the brass that I am buying.

In Topic: How to clean PETG?

Taishaku,

The streamline foam darts you use are too loose for PETG barrels, you should use foam darts or stefans which have a snug fit in the barrels (not loose nor tight). A 100% dart to barrel seal is essential for optimal performance.

Foam darts with loose barrel fit (you mentioned they could just drop right through the barrel) allow air and pressure to escape around it, hence wasting alot of power. This is usually one of the common causes of foam darts slowing down or stalling halfway in the barrel and not fired out (or getting less range), even from powerful blasters.

Switch to custom foam darts or stefans which have a snug fit in PETG barrels and you will see the difference (and way better consistency + accuracy too). :)

Ah. Maybe I should have went with the 17/32 brass; then again, the front would be crazy heavy.

Anyhow, here goes my foray into dartsmithing. Now to find a design that is safe and effective. (I would value the former over the latter.) Any suggestions? =\
