Okay, attached are some caps of what I've tinkered together so far.

So the bolt pushes down on the pin valve in the tank to release air which is then routed into the regulator. I'm debating whether to order the solenoid valve with expensive, 2 day shipping or not at this point. On one hand, I could rig up some kind of plunger to trigger the valve on the regulator and use that as a button and save 37 bucks... on the other hand, the plunger could fly out of my rig and kill someone... which would be bad...

Okay. Looking at hooking up the SMDTB to 9oz air tank limited to 45psi and triggered using a solenoid air valve for a car horn... does that sound incredibly dumb, or right on?

Explain "9oz air tank" ... I think you are looking at CO2. If it was really an air tank, I would expect capacity to be stated in units of volume such as cubic inches. CO2 introduces one severe problem: cold. Far too cold for most plastics.

Yes, CO2 tank. Sorry for the lapse in proper nomenclature. It came today. 9oz Pure Energy paintball CO2 tank.

My rig will look significantly better than that one... Yikes.

I've never worked with pin valves before. Does anyone know what the part is called that locks into place and opens the valve?

Thanks!

Would a regulator like this be sufficient? Overkill?

First, get yourself a Spiderman Dart Tag Blaster (abbreviated SMDTG around here) as a "baseline" for conversation. Let us know what about it does not meet your needs, and we can offer suggestions.

Excellent! I didn't see that on Hasbro's site. Thanks Bob. So yeah, that would make an excellent barrel (Hoping I can isolate the barrel from the wrist mount), but obviously I'd still like to rig it up to compressed air by hose. Could it handle that sort of pressure? What type of reinforcement would you recommend?
