B-dart

27 August 2009 - 11:08 PM

I have always been a fan of large ammo types so without further ado the B-Dart
First the finished product.

Materials
3/4" id polycarbonate tube (barrel material) Mcmaster #8585K35
Ace 3/4" caulk backer
These washers #91090A101 or pennies
A knife
A hot glue gun

First cut out a two inch section of caulk backer. Repeat until all the backer is gone.

There is no need to straighten the darts with heat or anything. Because of their size they can be straightened with your fingers by just squeazing.

Next apply hot glue to the washer or penny and lightly press it onto the the section of backer.

Then cut a smaller half centimeter peice of backer like this.

Glue it onto the front of the dart as padding.
Once your done the darts should stand up like Slug's do. And finally a size comparison to a regular stephan.

Q's? C's? F's?

Also sorry about the crappy picture quality. I used a cell phone. Better pics will be coming soon (by Monday). Also if anyone has the coding to put the picture directly into the post; that would help. For some reason, my computer has stopped giving me the option of pics links and emails ion the posting page.

Circuit Question

21 August 2009 - 10:56 PM

Hey so I recently got two AT3K's from Thanatos. They are super great and I want to make them even greater by pimping them up with LED's. Unfortunately I know almost nothing about LED's. After surching for a while I found these http://superbrightle...cs/r3_specs.htm. I would like to have three in the front to blind people and two elswhere for cool looks. I want them all to turn on from the same switch and run from the same 9 volt battery. I figure that this (crappily drawn) model should do the trick.

The problem is I don't know what type of resistor to use or what type of switch. Based off of this, here are my questions:

1)Will three of these lights be able to blind someone in the dark and from how far away approximately?
2)What type of resistor should I use?
3)What type of switch should I use?
4)Will a nine volt battery be strong enough to power all five of the lights?
5)Where is the best place to by resistors and switchs.

Answers like "figure it out on your own" and "NOOb" won't help.

100th Post!! Hooray

Human Vs. Zombie

13 August 2009 - 09:11 PM

Hey guys I was surfing the web and I found this. Looks like it is geared towards nerf but more specifically to infection style gameplay. I'v only looked at it for a couple of minutes but these guys look as serious about this as we are I mean come on its a .org. http://humansvszombies.org/

Another At3k Question

05 August 2009 - 11:26 PM

Hey so I'm gonna get a 3K soon and I was wondering how long I should make the barrels if I;m using CPVC and 17/32 brass. My stephans are the ones from Captain Slug's sig. They are a perfect fit for brass and are slightly tight in CPVC. They do not fit in PETG because they are to small and fall out. I have done research on this so comments like 'Figure it out on your own' or 'NOOB' won't be apreciated.

Zombie Apocalypse

30 July 2009 - 10:51 PM

So I know it probably won't happen but so many movies and vid games have been made out of it. The Zombie Apocalypse! The era where the infected rule the earth and humans hide in remote areas of safety, constantly on the move, or fighting for their lives. What would you do? What guns would you use? How would you travel? I really don't believe this stuff but I read some thing on yahoo that scientist had genetically modified rabies so that it was more lethal, more contagious and airborne. The made it so it only attacked a species of ants and then released it in Texas. I was just thinking, what would happen if it mutated? Also heres a great book on zombies. Its hilarious because it treats it so seriously like its actual science and stuff. I'd highly recomend reading it.
