Has anyone had trouble sending nerf guns through checked luggage when flying? I'm going south for DCNO tomorrow, and I'd like to know whether I should chance it or just ship them.
Crossfire 2k

I'm putting my at2k into a crossfire shell, and I have only one thing stopping me. Is the big white firing valve the air tank also? And what should I use to attach the tube to the imput on it?
Answered my own dumb questions, I'll put up pictures when I'm done, won't be too long.

A Working One!

A week of boredom and a trip to Lowes can produce some interesting results. This isn't very interesting.
But it is a nerf gun.
It is about the size of a magstrike.
An electric sprinkler valve for the trigger, and a ball valve to control air to the firing tank.
Really easy to take apart/repair. Different barrels can be attached, different sized firing tanks, different valve systems and the such are easy to put in.
I'm going to work on a clip system for it, whenever I can get some sheets of pvc. (never?)
I'm also going to try out my old "grenade launcher" idea.
Oh, I forgot ranges. Firing from the firing tank along got over a hundred feet (only 100' measure), guestimating a hundred and twenty, and firing from the full tank pushed the dart to what had to be 200'. These are stock darts.

Here are my plans for an extreemly far-fetched idea for a nerf gun. The Nerf Surpressing Tactical Barrage. My scanner is broken so the pictures suck. I will be attempting to build this within a few weeks, once I get some bigger pvc and other parts.
This is the launcher. Basically a giant air tank with a wide barrel on the end. The barrel and largest pieces of the tank will be 1 and a half inch pvc. The design will probably change as I get to building it. The barrel size will stay the same.
The ordinance. It is a 1 1/4 inch pvc endcap glued onto an inch or so of 1 1/4 pvc. The other endcap is not glued on so that it can be pulled off when a string attaching the cap to the launcher is pulled taunt. It will probably be sprayed with cooking spray to keep it loose. The ammo, 1/2 fbr, will be weighted down by 2 or 3 BBs per piece, so they have less chance of being blown off course by wind.
This system will hopefully enable a nerfer to cover an area with foam in a short time. It obviously wouldn't work in an area with lots of trees, or against any sort of cover with a roof.
Questions? Comments? Flames? I know this idea is absurd and probably not efficiant, but I need something to do in my free time and this is it.

I had an empty nitefinder shell lying around, and figured that at2k internals would fit inside it. They did.
I used a paperclip to connect the trigger to the 2k tank. Ranges are in the 70-80 foot range. This gun weighs less than a stock or modded nitefinder. I plan to put the at2k turret onto the gun, once I get an o-ring to fit the turret.

EDIT: Sorry about the bad pictures, all I had was a webcam to take them with.
EDIT2: The glue is dried and the tape is off. Also, I put a brass barrel on it.
