That sir, is false. Your best bet is just to go ahead and either replace it, or add another one to it. Besides, making the catch stronger can't hurt anything.A nitefinder catch spring can catch massive loads. it could hold a [k26] no problem but just to be safe you should either dig the catch notch in the priming rod a little deeper or just put a stronger catch spring.

If the plunger tube you're using for the snap is 1 1/4" PVC, then you need a 1 1/2" rubber washer to get a good seal. 1 1/4" washers are used to pad the front of the plunnger head so when it strikes the front bushing the impact is lessened.
