I Hadn't Seen Anyone Else Do This (a Barrel Break Story In Picture
09 March 2011 - 11:43 PM
I haven't had a chance to formally test the distance yet, because it shoots farther than I have straight open space in my apartment. I think I've easily doubled the range between this and removing the AR's.
Having Some Problems With My Spectre
09 March 2011 - 11:29 AM
I decided to take another look at modding my Spectre (all I had previously done was remove the AR's) and I came up with what I still think, in theory, should be good ideas. Unfortunately, I'm having problems that Google would lead me to believe no one has ever had.
First things first: Here's a picture of what I'm working with.
As you can see, I've added a bit of pipe to each barrel to trap more air behind the dart instead of letting it escape. The darts aren't jamming because the pipe is too tight, I'm sure of it (I dremeled the inside out pretty well and I'm using streamlines.) The barrel sometimes slightly over-rotates now though... this would be easier to explain with another picture.
This causes the darts to not fire correctly because they hit the orange piece. When this doesn't happen, the mod works great, but can anyone help me fix this? I'm sort of at a loss.
Edit: I don't know how I forgot to mention this. Also, sometimes the cocking mechanism won't go all the way back, and if I force it to, it will cock (with a loud pop) and not turn the barrel. VERY annoying. This happens maybe 10% of the time.

Problems With Nf
08 January 2010 - 03:59 AM
Issue 1:
I've been overhauling my NF recently and everything's gone pretty well (changing the flashlight to IR led's, adding a laser pointer with a switch, etc.) The seemingly complicated stuff works fine. But when I tried to replace the barrel, I'm suddenly getting 10-15' ranges, rather than the 30-35 I had before. I've looked for leaks, but I can't find anything. I added a brass barrel and removed everything back to the plunger tube and hot glued around the whole seam. I even put a straw down the barrel and sealed around it so the air would go straight into the dart, but that only added maybe a foot or two. Any ideas? (I'll post pics if necessary.)
(note: if this type of problem has been answered a million times, feel free to direct me there. I tried searching but didn't find anything that helped.)
Issue 2:
I keep hearing about adding an Ace #49 spring to make it shoot farther, so I got one. The only problem is, it's an extension spring, rather than the compression spring that comes with the gun? How do I put it on? I searched for this as well but all I find are threads recommending the spring, never threads explaining the mod.
