I encourage everyone to please take the time to read this important article on Forbes.com which was written by Dr. Robert Glatter.

 

In this article, Dr. Glatter warns that "Hasbro now has a product on the market known as Nerf darts".  These darts, which are "akin to bullets" have caused minor eye injuries for 3 people in the UK which required them to use eyedrops for a short period of time.  Dr. Glatter goes on to further warn that these darts can be made even more dangerous through modification as shown in this video.

 

I implore anyone who is organizing any event using these new Nerf darts to heed the expert and well informed advice of Dr. Glatter; please use full-face protection and avoid modifying these darts in any way.  Failing to follow these guidelines places everyone in risk of minor eye injury and/or death.

This will be the second of Mag-7's hosted wars and based on how well March Metldown went I don't think you'll want to miss it. Expect fast paced rounds, innovative game types, and lots of 'your mom' jokes. Lots.

When: Saturday, April 25th. War starts at 10am.

Where: Tatum County Park - Middletown, NJ

Directions: The distance from Garden State Parkway Exit 114 to the park is less than 2 miles.
- Take the Garden State Parkway to Exit 114 for Holmdel/Middletown.
- As you come off the exit ramp, turn on to Red Hill Rd. so that you are heading East.
- At the traffic light, bear Left on to Van Schoick Rd. Go 1 mile.
- Make the first Right on to Holland Rd. Go about 1/2 mile.
- Turn Right at the sign for Tatum Park / Holland Activity Center. Go about 1/4 mile.
- Park.

Rules:
BROWN BAG YOUR LUNCH - Sorry, no hour long Greasefest at the local Diner. Pack a lunch and bring water.
3:15 Hit-Count.
All gun hits count.
Any hit disputes are resolved in favor of the shooter unless a 3rd party can vouch that it missed.
No guns that I think shoot too hard or too far.
Doomsayers are subject to banning. Even if I don't think they shoot too hard or too far.

I had a good time at the non-ECNO war but am a little anxious to get the next NJ event hosted somewhere that will allow for a slightly faster pace of play. An ideal location would be any setting where OMC won't wreck his ankle inside of 15 minutes.

I'm trying to plan this war for a Sunday which I know is a little unorthodox and could pose a problem for some of you who have to drive back to school. I figure what the hell, I'll give it a shot. I'm honestly not looking for a huge turnout, I like the smaller group at Tindal and would be happy with 12-14 people total.

Let me know who's In, Out, or Maybe.

I was just skimming through Evil's list of East Coast Wars and noticed that there's a bit of a gap between Deal (June 30th) and the Long Island Nerf Out (July 28th). Since I don't see any info on Hershfest, I was wondering if anyone in the area would be up for something on July 14th or 15th?

Nothing fancy, no invites or preplanned rounds, just something low-key to stay loose for Apoc. I'd be willing to travel to a nearby park or host something around here.

Just got home; my legs are sore, my hands are blistered, and I am content.
For me it was a really rewarding day, some of the rounds were amongst my best and others were amongst my worst but it was great to Nerf with people that I enjoy being around.

Groove, OMC, Darkshrimp, Tailbone, Rambo, and all the guys from NY - thanks for making the drive to be here. I hope you all enjoyed it and I'm anxious to hear your feedback.

LCM - The Nerf Journal shall record this as the first Deal War where you tied us in Deathmatch rounds. Either you guys have really stepped up your game, we've gotten lax, or OMC is just that much of a bad ass that his team always wins. Wait... his team was kind of like the gazelles being circled by predators. Scratch the whole 'OMC must be a bad ass' thing, I don't know what I was thinking.

Highlights:
- Death's questionably necessary acrobatics.
- Hosing down 3 in a row with my Longshot.
- The Umbrella Gun (it's just fascinating).
- Getting man handled by Evil, Groove, and I think Tailbone during the Hostage/Capture/Zombie/Werewolves vs. Vampires rounds.
