Block of semi-useful text-

It is indeed extremely easy. This is a write up with anything and everything that I could think of. The point of this is to help out the people unlucky enough to have the combination of no mechanical ability and a big interest in nerf modding or those that have a passing interst that might be grown into a nerfing spirit. I've seen a lot of mentions of modifications to the LSFG, however, I've seen virtually no write-ups. Four in the directory and only one of which deals with barrel replacement. This mod leaves the gun looking ever so slightly more stock than the other variant (It looks completely stock unless you're looking down the barrel from less than a foot away) with nothing protruding from the end. It also eliminates the guesswork from the amount of e-tape to use, since that isn't consistent with thickness and surface texture of differing brands. The first write-up I'll be posting, so here goes.

The actual mod-

As goes first without saying, open up the gun.

Slip these two pieces out from under the catch.
See the one on the left? That's the one we're going to be working on.

Now flip that piece up on it's end and run a drill down the hole to get the AR out. I used a 5/16 bit and it came out perfectly. Don't worry about the peg for now, that's coming out in a bit.

Now, carefully cut the two end pieces off the main tube, just below the ridge on the AR side, and flush with the edge of the other endpiece, cutting off the two protruding nubs. Cut a piece of CPVC to 2 3/8" long, or whatever the length of the removed tube was, adding two times the width of your cutting blade if you really want to be precise about it.

Carefully glue the pieces together with your choice of adhesive, making sure that all of the pieces are concentric to ensure a neat fit in the plunger tube.

Allow whatever adhesive you're using to cure, and then put as much support in the form of epoxy as you can in the area where you can see the gap between barrel and plunger. This is to provide support primarily for the reassembly of the gun, as I have never been able to get all of the parts aligned and working properly in anything less than three attempts. Do not glue the plunger tube and the barrel together!

Make sure you have all of the parts back in working order, especially the catch. Now stick the two sides together, put the corner screws in place, re-assemble the priming grip, and try to get the cursed thing to catch. If it works first try, lucky you. If it doesn't, just take it apart, shift the catch around a bit, make sure everything else is in working order, and try again.
